"textures/items" and "textures/blocks" have been re-organized so that each item/block (and liked groups) have their own folder in the existing folder.
We need a rework on the following:
Jungle leaves
Bowl and stew
Dyes - they always scream at me every time I update my flavor. Perhaps make them like in some kind of vial, bucket, powerder, or other dye thingy...
Minecarts, cauldron, repeater, bed, boat should be hand drawn. I created them for a placeholder... I don't think it would hurt getting the doors hand drawn? Perhaps the sign too?
I think the flowerpot and comparator should be hand drawn as well. They are fine as placeholders.
good job, thanks! And sorry, because i had either 'good glitch' or just mod that can do that, so i thought it was MCPatcher, but though, but it hasn't tha feature.
Do we know, yet, where the Quarts Ore and Quartz block textures will go on the terrain.png? (Sorry for pestering, I'm just trying to prep for my update)

as always, a lot of effort makes everything better, thanks.
Do icons looks bad? Surely, i can draw them, just asking.
Well, mostly I avoid using our downloads so I can leave the bandwidth open for other people. Instead I just plop new textures from this topic into my copy as things progress. Though, I'm still running... I think 1.3.5 at the moment. I think. Whatever is pre-potato. I keep a separate save in some texturing folders on my desktop and fiddle with it now and again when I've got an itch to do so.
How do you get this pack to work with the mods listed? What is this "vault?" How does one get mod textures from the vault into the texture pack itself? Do you have any idea how much custom content ends up not being used simply for a lack of adequate instructions? We average players download a lot of stuff but oh to have a dollar for every modification that ends up not being used! (I wish there was a counter for that!)
This is a beautiful texture pack but to use it, my modded content looks terrible. I've already trashed half my mods, the next thing I'm going to do is trash this game.... not picking on you but am just so tired of dealing with one custom content problem after another (incompatibilities, inadequate instruction, etc., it really never ends.)
I'm sorry but I don't understand why someone would create texture content for mods then offer no instruction on how to use it. Besides causing frustration and irritation to many average players, it drives us to the "improved default" texture packs. (And people wonder why they're so popular?) The creators of custom content deserve better (more actual users) and the players deserve better; don't you think?
I hope you find my comments useful. This is not meant as a tirade but only an honest view from a casual gamer with many years experience.

I"m actually surprised the mods themselves don't tell people where to put special textures for them. Not all of us here at ORR play with mods, let alone all of them (at least I know I don't play with any except CTM which is part of the basic download). I suppose, if I did play with a mod and I got a png file for the mod's textures, I'd look up those texture packs you're talking about and see where the matching file is hidden within that .zip then put mine into my .zip accordingly.
I know not everyone knows how to edit a png (or rather might not have a program to do so), but putting a file into a .zip is usually basic stuff. Now where in the .zip, on the other hand, I think is the issue, yes? Bad enough each mod probably has it's own special place for these files too, right?
I completely admit, if I tried to do mod support, I'd end up looking at some other texture pack's .png, see what texture is laid out where (ex: silver is first, then copper, then etc...) and the overall dimension of the file (1024x1024?) give or take for the texture pack's dimension. Then I'd look at the mod's topic and see what items it adds to the game. From there, just plop my own textures onto a new .png and have it available for download. That being said, sometimes even we don't know where it goes, but we know it exists. Well, OK maybe that's me. We'd need responses from the people working on the support to see if they know or are also in the dark like I am.
As for our "Vault" that is, well, basically what it is. It's nearly every submission we've done into the pack, with all the alternatives and individual (as well as grouped) textures. As the name implies, it's storage, but for people who want something specific, it's a place to go to fetch that one thing that's missing (or something you want changed).
I hope this explanation helps for you. I know it isn't much to go by, but it's also why we like feedback like yours.

Thank you for your timely reply. By itself it would have overwhelmed (confused) me but serendipitously I just happened a moment ago to look inside my simple ores mod zip file whereupon I spotted two images that match the type seen in your vault. Aha --- it's beginning to make sense!
If a mod adds a block or item to the game, a "template image" for it resides inside the mod's zip file. It can be replaced by a "template image" from a texture pack! This is something I'm sure very few average players are aware of. I noticed there were two sizes for each image in the vault --- I will try one size then the other if need be, in full expectation the problem will be solved.
On another note, I have seen with other texture packs an option to download a (zip?) file corresponding to each mod supported. The additional file is then added to the main texture pack. That solution seems more likely to be innately fathomable to the average user don't you think?
Whatever the case, thanks again for your prompt assistance!

*** Am still working on it.... had to figure out that "black down arrow" on your vault page in order to get the image to my desktop, lol. ***** AT LAST! Started a new world and bingo --- right off the bat I hit a sweet vein of coal and copper... with the updated textures --- yay!
Posting to say I really love the aesthetics of this texture pack. I've been using for nearly a year now, and it's just beautiful. It's a bit of a pain to update every patch as I prefer to use the customizer, but it is always worth it!
Love this TP, But i have found some purple dots on coal, cooked potatoes norm and poison, carrots also have purple dots. and im just thinking why is the map in back and white?
i must say tho, i Love this texturepack and i hope these will be fixed,

Personally, I would probably use #3 in my game. I like the outline to it; makes it look robust.
We're working on updating it. Too many images that need the light enchanced.
the new snapshot has updated the texture files to the 'unstitched' version dinnerbone teased a while back. from here, it gets difficult to account for every texture :L

already was drawn few posts ago
I'm going with 1 for now in my pack. 2 and 4 didn't tile very well for the cube as a whole IMO. Although, I do like 4

I'll still stick with #4

If you guys want, I can plop all 4 of these textures in to replace some wool blocks and take a screen shot of them in the game?
Can I still vote? I vote 4.
Probably would be a good idea

Thank you for that Serrinatta!
Agreed.
The number 4 redstone block looks a lot like the lapis block but in red, and I love the lapis on this texture pack!
Edit: On a side note, should we have some more screen shots done of our texture pack now that a lot of things have been updated?
