Thanks to all who commented on the topic of high res graininess.
I will definitely take a look into the Optifine mod. I've heard so many
people raving about the importance of it and the real difference it makes.
On the topic of the popularity of low res packs, Yes absolutely there is a surplus
of them, but if you can achieve the great detail established in this pack, in the 16/32x
low resolution, not only would you be one of the few, but your total "audience" would literally
double.
While my computer isn't bad, it's no crazy gaming one...

Optifine should help with that Schwaa, on my old laptop I saw an fps increse of 20-30. :biggrin.gif:
That looks great, and I'd love to see it in game, however it seems as though placing it into the pack's archive doesn't work for me.
In other news I can't seem to vote in the poll, so I'll just say here that I love the glsl mod, and would be ecstatic to see this great texture pack support bump-mapping.
Make sure the name is custom_terrain_20 with the underscores. When i downloaded it there wasn't any.
OptiFine mod works impressively well with this pack. I am glad :smile.gif: Also it works pretty fine with MCPatcher if you disable HD textures, HD fonts and Better Grass. It messes with actual font a little. But I hope this issue will be solved. And it will be recomended for use in main post as soon, as I work something out with fonts.
Kreeate, I am understand you very well. I hate this fire particles myself. You can turn them off by setting particles to the minimal in video options. But this means that you also turning off some other particles. The OptiFine mod allows to choose particles you turm off more fine but still you gonna turm off all flames (torches included) which is not very good right now. But if I will use OptiFine as mandatory for this mod I may see to future torches animation. Without particles in the way, I think, it's possible to make them animated with photographic fire and look good, despite 4-side model. BUT, this will look good only on vertical model. If you'll stick the torch on the wall then animation will be messed up, because of distortion. So it may be not the right way to go after all... The right way is to make brand new animated sprite on top of torch (instead if flame particles) which will always face the player. Or crossed sprites (like mushrooms). But I can't possible do this without the help of coder/modder. Also, I guess simple mod can turn off the furnace flame particles. So if any coders want to help and made a little mod exactly for this pack, please, send me a PM.
v0.9.1 BETA
Char (some random survivalist, looks not very happy). Plenty of skeletons and some zombies. Leather armor. New textures of wooden planks and logs made its way to default pack, so the old ones is in customizer now. Skins of boat and arrow which I forgot earlier. And the experience orb.
There is a possibe issue with random mobs now... I like to have LOTS of them. But their weight is making the pack pretty heavy. 60Mb now and half of it is mob textures. So there will be two download links starting from the next update: one for basic texture pack (with one version of each mob), and one for full pack with wide variety of random mobs.
Added 'Wool' section in Customizer.
You can check out new textures in creative mod or try to get them in survival.
Will be more soon. And feel free to add new ideas.
New: I didn't plan new update so soon but Minecraft 1.1 poped out, so I upgraded GUI for it. Spawner egg and language button. It's possible that I miss something else, though. Also one more char added. Iron armor. And more zombies and skeletons. If (when) I make another char there can be more zombies, because it's good way to utilize new skin. But skeletons are done (about 50 variations). So it's possible to assume that size of full pack will not grow that drastically anymore.
PS
Not sure why, but chars come out grim and gloomy. I do not plan it, they just are. I guess surviving theme is the reason. Being aware of exploding creepers all the time is not very pacifying.
This is probaly the biggest texture pack file size EVER, impressive.
I am not proud of it. If there was a way to provide wide variativity with less size, I would gladly done it. Basically, everything from 34 Mb is mix of several base textures and random pieces of armor. But this way you can be sure that every skeleton/zombie you encounter will be little different. In game it feels really good.
Could you add the iron armour from skeleton51 to the player armours? (or ist it just a darkened variation? Then I can make it easily by myself^^)
It is darkened and high contrast variation with some "dirty" texture on top. It is too processed to make it default texture but, I guess, I can make several variations of armor in this manner: new shiny ones, little worn and worn out. (Is there a mod for armor, so it change textures in process of losing durability? It would be so cool.) To place them in customizer. Although I wont start with it until I fix some things that annoys me in existing armor and finish two more. Pity I pack mobs in armor already. It won't be so easy to change and I probable leave them as it is.
Added 'User Screenshots' in Preview section :smile.gif: Everyone, feel free to participate if you have something to show. Also, it's very helpful to me and WILL affect future changes in texture pack.
OptiFine looks great by description. It's pity that it conflicts with MCPatcher :sad.gif: But I'm going to try it anyway.
Did you vote in pervious poll about the font? I think everyone who voted earlier can't vote now. Some kind of error.

That is true but optifine adds everything mcpatcher adds EXCEPT random mobs from what last I seen. You can always install random mobs then optifine.

I love this texture pack. Great work.
Забыл лайер включить. Спасибо, что подметил. Сегодня доделаю очередной комплект брони, мобов и заодно обновлённые айтемы закину.
Forgot to turn on the layer. Thanks for pointing. Today I'll finish another armor set, some mobs and renew the items.

Equilibrium v. 0.9.2 [108 Mb]
Full version of texture pack with all the extras. Supports: Random Mobs.
Equilibrium v. 0.9.2 (Lite) [34 Mb]
Totally playable but lightened version with only the basic textures.

Thanks. I will.
Also, what you think of new wooden planks? I added little more contrast and now I feel like it was mistake...
Sure, if you like to. The more stuff the better. The more different the stuff the betterer :smile.gif:
