Updated. New sandstone textures. New Iron Golem texture - Bumblebee. Not sure if Random Mobs allows for multiple Iron Golem skins - anyone know? Doh, if at first you don't succeed, read the instructions. Alternate skin names start at number 2 not number 1...

What about random mob support for villagers? I can't get alternate skins to show unless I change the default! OK stupid mistake, see edit in post above. Miranda Kerr anyone?
I tested it a little bit.
I had a good impression when I saw the screenshots but it's not the same ingame.
I quite like most of the textures.
But the stone slab is wrong. It doesn't look like it is supposed to be at all.
The colors of pretty everything are too faded IMO, and a bit dirty.
I was really surprised by the food textures, squares ? I don't like it. And at first, I didn't recognized the torch but it's ok.
The mobs seems alright, I really like the creeper.
But yeah, all the textures, except maybe the stone, wool, and obsidian, look faded (mobs too).

Thanks for the great feedback, you're right about the stone slab, I've been meaning to do something about that.
This definitely isn't a bright, saturated colour texture pack, probably because I'm old, and prefer a more subdued palette - plus the fact that it is a semi-realistic pack that gets it colours from natural things. But good call all the same, the screenshots are obviously taken in game, maybe different because I use a Mac?

Updated to lastest bugfix snapshot 12w21b with the new Creative Mode inventory menu. There is a separate link in the first main post to download this snapshot specific texture pack.
Also found this cool village with its own temple, you must of course be playing with the 12w21a/b snapshots to see these. Here is the seed:

Updated to snapshot 12w22a. Added emerald block, tripwires, and updated creative mode inventory and trading GUIs. Also optimized files for a smaller download.
The subdued colouring works very well for me, but I particularly like a lot of the unusual ideas like the 3d glasses for the pumpkin blur...that just made me grin! Awesome iron golem and mob skins and I very much like the overall fun decisions running throughout. It's different and refreshing and very enjoyable looking around your individual take on things.

Great stuff!
Wow, I really appreciate your comments, it's sometimes hard to gauge whether anyone actually bothers to download and try it on for size. Maybe it will one day come close to the epic-ness of your amazing steampunk pack
Now I just have to try to get my head back down to it's normal size.
