Oh, wow. That IS very big. The one I was planning on building is actually much smaller, mainly because of the height limit. I also picked a smaller one because I wanted to fit it into my little town I had already built.
The floor plan is always the hardest part. Especially when replicating buildings, since one error can lead to a lot of rebuilding. After that it gets a lot more fun, seeing the building slowly take shape. I wish you the best of luck with building your cathedral! Let me know how it goes. :wink.gif:
I ended up getting dimensions wrong somewhere and it doesn't look like it'll be moving forward until I can get it figured out.
I'm probably going to have to start over/pick a new one since it's probably going to be too big for the build limit anyway. Which I don't mind at all since it's my first Epic Build and all the fun is in figuring out what you're doing. c:
Fantastic! Can't wait! :smile.gif: May I know what's planned for the next version? Not sure if anyone uses github for mc-related things other than tools; but is that something you'd might do? Or any other way to test out the textures in progress so to speak?
I have tried many texture-packs in my days, but this one really is a favorite.
Hmm, I usually make stuff up as I go. I do have a few things in mind. I'm probably going to finish all the GUI, finish the particles and effects, make a couple mobs (wolves and cows are my biggest priority right now, enderdragon is my last), make a couple items (probably the rest of the common ones, and the ones that represent the brewing stand/pot, since those are finished), and do some fixes (flickering line, vines, etc.). Once I get a majority of Grimpack finished, I'll start working on some alts. I'm open to suggestions too, if you want something in Grimpack, let me know! :wink.gif:
I found another slight glitch, which should be an easy fix. It's the flickering chest texture that has been around since 1.8? I believe the fix to be removing a line of pixels, or something like that. It is a minor glitch, so no immediate fix needed, of course, it could also just be my CPU, so maybe fix it when you have some down time or something.
Well, its sort of a glitch. The flickering is caused by the way the new chests are designed. They overlap at one part, and if both sections of the chest aren't the same color where it overlaps, it makes it flicker. I'm sure it will be easy to fix, I just need to figure out a way to make the extra thick line look good. Thanks for pointing that out!
im probably being picky, but i noticed the swords dont sit in the hand correctly when u look in 3rd person.
Don't worry, you're not being picky. They don't sit correctly in the hand. I'm not sure how to fix that, because I would have to make the hilts really long. I've tried doing that before, but it ends up looking really strange. I'm open to suggestions though!
Edit: Anyone else notice those quotes from random threads on here? :huh.gif: That was weird.
Tell me what you think of the maps if you look at them!
I looked at the maps, and here is some constructive criticism.
- A lot of the paintings/decorations were placed in extremely random spots, such as curtains and banners on random parts of the wall. Try to use these things with a little more care.
- Maps were short, but that was probably intended.
- A lot of the structures/areas were not very complex or didn't seem to make sense. Like wool, gold, and cobble randomly put together.
Overall, I think the maps would be much better if you used a little more effort/spent some more time on them.

I wish you luck with your build, too. ^^
Don't worry, I've done the same plenty of times! But sometimes it is better to pick up a new project or start over. Especially if its your first one. And it'll be a lot easier now that Jeb is adding in a new "flat world" option.
Thanks. Its getting built, little by little, but its probably not going to be done for a very long time.
I was using this pack on a server I play on, admiring how nice it looked on my house, when I noticed the flowers...They were beautiful! They have such nice colours and designs, and they made my house look perfect and finished!
Thanks #4! I tried to make it so that the flowers could be used as decoration too. I got tired of all those little boring flowers a lot of other packs have and wanted to make some that were a little more "interesting". That reminds me, I need to fix my longrass. I'm sure everyone can agree that it looks pretty half assed right now. :tongue.gif:

Yeah. c:
Probably just going to 'let it rot' so to speak and pick something else to work on for awhile until I get some more skill and know what I'm doing. lol
Maybe a normal Catholic church since they're pretty, too, and MUCH smaller with less detail. :tongue.gif:
Whatever I pick, it'll look amazing with this texture pack. <3
I only clicked this because you called it grim but with love, I like it is well done, but unfortunately for me... its too, well... grim.
but it looks great.
It is dark, but its also made with love! Just like my grandmother's pies. Anyway, I understand. I've just never been a fan of Minecraft's extremely happy/bright textures.
Yeah. c:

Makes sense, I've done that with some redstone contraptions. :tongue.gif: Sometimes its better to just "sleep on it". And there's no shame in doing smaller projects, everyone has to start somewhere! Plus, even the smallest churches can be a nightmare to get just right.
any ETA on when the next update will be? I'm happy just with small updates too. :smile.gif:
Hmm, I'm not really sure. This next week is going to be complicated. I will be getting a series of medical tests all week, so I wont be able to work on Grimpack too much. It will probably come out sometime after that week, probably a couple of days after.
Not sure what will be in the next update though. I've gone from from my original plan and have been focusing on items and polishing the terrain lately, so I guess I'll just see where it goes. Speaking of which, I'm thinking of changing the crafting table. Any ideas or suggestions?

I'm not sure about the crafting table, I kind of like it now, it fits in. Maybe you could update the pack t o1.1 first?

Yeah, I'll just try making it look nicer when I get a chance. By the way, the 1.1 update will be coming soon. I wasn't able to work on my pack for a little while, but now that I can, I'll try to finish it up.
looks great but I don't like the chest textures very much, other than that it looks great!
Thanks ShadowEZX, I'm glad you like it. I know my chests aren't the prettiest things, but that is sort of intended. I was hoping to make them look very rustic, like medieval chests, and not really ornate like a lot of packs. I will be adding some variations when I get a chance, so don't worry, I'm sure there will be a texture that suits you soon eventually.
I have a question, whats with the clouds? Is it that i did something weird to cause it?
Hmm, that's because of how low you are on the map. The clouds were intended to cover the whole sky, but Minecraft's view distance isn't very far, so its very easy to see where the clouds end from that low. That is an issue. I'll have to look into a way to make the clouds cover the sky, but reduce the hard edges.
Hey man, I love your pack! I'm trying it out right now, and I just made a thread that features pictures using your texture pack! Please check it out and leave a comment if you like it! Feel free to also use the images on that thread for your "Screenshots" section of your post for this pack! C:
Github is basically like sourceforge. A place to share code and whatnot. Very neat when in need of testers.
Hmm, it sounds useful. Although I'm not sure Grimpack would be very testable. My way of making textures is very chaotic and random. I'll look into it though. It may be useful to have some people look at my textures before I release them. Then again, I could just post some previews here.

There appears to be a problem with the pack, and I've never experienced a problem as such with a texture pack before. Whenever I switch over to grimpack the buttons disappear with only the background visible. The screen then goes black and I return to the starting menu with the default texture pack in place. Any ideas as to what may have caused this?

- Misc. items added
- updated crafting bench
- Texture fixes
Enjoy!

Thanks. What is github though? It sounds really familiar, but I can't seem to remember what it is.

Edit: Checked it out. Cool buildings! Posted in your thread.
Looks nice.
