Hey gang. Noob here. Is it possible to replace just one texture? I'd love to use the glass from say, the Painterly pack, but leave everything Minecraft Vanilla. Any clues for me?

yes, u can edit using any basic editing program to change that terrible texture. I use gimp, its free

EDIT: if you want to use painterly glass, copy that texture and paste that into the current glass texture in the terrain.png
or if you want you can check out my texture pack, my glass is way better and i try to keep it as vanilla as possible but im not sure if you would like it because I still change lots of things

It's completely possible. But not that easy to explain in a simple text.

Basicaly a texturepack that edits ONLY glass. So just go through steps with painterly , editing ONLY glass than use as any other.

Ah, roger. Thanks guys! I did not realize I could directly edit the terrain.png file. I was looking for individual files to swap from the painterly pack. Like I said, I'm a total n00b.
