these are all amazing...I will not be participating in the contest since I have zero artistic ability, but I will definitely be trolling it and waiting for download links from all of the 16x packs. (I would get the 32x, but my laptop sucks and can't handle them xD).
Ok, couldn't be bothered making a 32x texture because I'm lazy and tired and also because I'm getting my new computer tomorrow and can't really think straight!
Instead I went over some of my old textures (aka wood, grass and dirt :tongue.gif:) and made them a bit more RPG. I also made some sexy-ass leaves! (got no leaf pics though)
Stone and cobble are up next for the RPG treatment!
So here is what I have after a 3 and a half hour texturing session today. I am mostly likely going to remove the green from the smooth stone and I am aware of the tiling issues. :smile.gif:
I do have one question though. I have dithering on the stone slabs but not on the stone brick. Which works better?

You might want to reduce the contrast there, 42and19!
As a pixel artist, I think this contest is awesome! Of course, a global palette of 32 or perhaps 64 shades would make more sense than 5 per block, but I guess I'll enter if I can come up with something.
Oh, come on. If I am doing this you can too. :smile.gif: We can compete for last place.

Retired StaffThat looks nice so far. :biggrin.gif: Much better than mine.
You're on. That last place spot is mine.
:biggrin.gif:
This grass is going to look like crap.

Retired StaffPerhaps I should pick up my pace.
Anyhoo, what do you guys think? 5 colours is hard enough, but only using pencil tool? This is proving quite the challenge.
Also, traceroy, that stone is sublime, I love it.
Thanks :biggrin.gif: though, when you look at it in-game, it looks much less appealing :sleep.gif:
And I LOVE that dirt, for some reason I've had trouble with mine. I might try switching to 16x.
EDIT: Claiming page 8!
Good luck to everybody who is participating!
try: command not found
Screenshots upcoming.
That dirt is pretty amazing btw!
