I'm going to get in on this but I don't have any time at all. If the deadline were extended another week maybe I'd be able to make it. Oh well, I'll try anyway with the little time I have.
ok, come on guys. I go to work and then sleep for 4 hours and you make 4 pages worth of posts....sheesh.
Anyway. The only thing I have finished is my color palette which is inspired by the old CGA based graphics from the early to mid 80's. I took the basic 16 colors that CGA had and doubled them by adding some more shades.

That's an awkward way of doing this. Your textures will end up looking a bit flat if all you do for the shades is increase or decrease the brightness.
I don't expect to win. Or even come close. It is a bit awkward but that is how graphics were done in games at one time. Though most of the games I am familiar with from the late 80s were EGA graphics (64 color palette) I was considering using that instead and I may switch. It depends on how things go.

Get ready to watch me fail...
Wow! Looks like you're continuing where Leo left off and went to 32x. I like it.
They look ultra-realistic.
Incredible work guys. Can't wait to see these finished.
But I'm going to make a one-color-per-block simple pack with an adf.ly link and beat both of you!

Retired StaffThe limit is 5. You could use only 3 if you wanted to, but no going over 5.
That looks pretty good! Love the cobble. :biggrin.gif:
The sand needs a bit of recoloring, though. It feels too gray and desaturated, at the moment.

Curse PremiumLeo, you might not get your textures done if you keep remaking the ones you've already completed... :tongue.gif:
I do the exact same thing though, probably why the updates to my packs come out so often... /sarcasm

Retired StaffNo, the deadline is next sunday. I was replying to leo's post about taking down the pic of his old textures. :biggrin.gif:
