Wow! You guys have been busy while I was sleeping.

I love all these new textures everyone's putting out. Now it's time for me to get back to work on my own entry so I can stake my claim on last place. :biggrin.gif:

Hm...the dirt feels a bit too high contrast to me. The lumps are too light and the cracks are too dark, in my opinion. Stone looks good, though. :smile.gif:

Chest, workbench, pistons, redstone repeaters, bookshelf, bed, cake, jack o lantern... i mean COME ON thats WAY too many exceptions and many of those are EASY to make with 5 colors... it 5 colors per texture not per the entire thing, so workbench would have 5 colors for each side. You need to take some of those out of there or make it more clear.

I don't know about you, but for me it's very difficult to make a bookshelf with only 5 colors. Or to make a crafting table that doesn't just look like a wooden box.

There are over 138+ textures on the terrain.png. The handful of exceptions I listed are not a big deal. And I want people to be able to have the ability to make, say, a bed where the pillow and the blankets don't have to be the same color.

And I think saying 'each separate element in the texture' is pretty clear. A pillow, for example, is a different element than the blanket. The books are a different element than the bookshelf. The mat on top of the crafting table is a different element than the wooden sides. If any of the textures I listed were restricted to only 5 colors for the entire block, that would severely limit what people could do with them.

And hey, the whole point of this is to have fun. If someone wants to cheat and abuse the exception rule then that's their problem-- they're missing the point of the contest and missing out on the fun that comes from being challenged. :smile.gif:
