I must say, I adore almost everything within your texture pack. Thus, the only way to progress it even further is to give you my opinion. I personally think you should spend some time on the ores, giving them each a unique design to make them stand out just that much more.
You can make some interesting patterns, as shown:
Another thing I might recommend is to spice up some blocks. Take the chest, for example; as it stands now, the chest seems too plain in my eyes. Or lacking depth and interest, at least. I don't know how open you are to ornate patterns, but i've found that it can turn out quite nice looking (especially with your poetic theme):
But really, take what I have to say with a grain of salt; just keep working and experimenting as you have. Your work is really great, and has become one of my favorite 16 x 16 packs... carry on!

awesome feedback, thank you! you brought up some great ideas, thank you - your use of "adore" is too charming for me to ignore, haha.
i will be adding new ore textures... perhaps as an alt. i had started out doing a very minimal pack, so i'm not sure i want to abandon what i have now and start anew with "new originals". i'll definitely be brainstorming on this. you bring up a good point - depth vs. flat textures. that is one fine line to walk!
as for the "spicing up" of "unspicy" blocks, this was something i wanted to venture into once i had a solid texture pack nearing 100%. not 100% completed of course, but something substantial. as of now, mobs are definitely next. i seem to be working on alts here and there, as time to do the rainy•sunday pack is sometimes proving difficult to delve into. (i am currently without a job... numero uno of priorities is job search... exhausting).
if i end up doing something ornate, i will try to keep it in the realm of rainy•sunday, whatever that means. :tongue.gif:
be on the lookout tonight - i'll be uploading three new things... some alts, some fixes!
The similarities stun me.
Not to say that you stole anything.
Just that these two texturepacks would seem to go along well together.
wow! that IS pretty crazy!
it doesn't surprise me much, except for the written story banner...
but it does make sense... everyone tries to put their personal touch on texture packs,
i am curious as to why i haven't seen more stories, poems, or haiku's on the forums.
i assure you though, i didn't even know this existed until you posted it.
what is also strange is that our posting date is incredibly close. his is the 14th, mine is the 27th.
i think i like his cobblestone better than mine, haha!

thanks for the comment :smile.gif:
Actualy I'm glad to see you around again ! I think your pack is wonderful, and it doesn't surprise me much that there are similarities since we both like Jolicraft so much. Though I think my pack was called MopyPack Pack when you started your thread. I changed the name once I found my direction a bit more. I ended up naming my pack after a concept album I recorded in 2007 called puddle place. Anyhoo... I've gone off on a tangent. I just wanted to drop by and say that I'm a fan, and I'm excited to see future updates, though life happens, and I totally get that, so no pressure (Well maybe a lil). :smile.gif:
One last thing, not that I mind you calling me a he, but I thought you should know this he is a she.

hey, thanks for the great reply! fantastic that you wrote :smile.gif:
puddle place sounds ridiculously cute, btw, haha! life does happen, indeed. i'm 27, scored a new job, sounds it is kind of the focus. i truly didn't mean to skip out on any updates, it's just that i've literally had zero time since the holidays picked up and into mid-january to pick up my mac and even play minecraft. sigh. but... hopefully i'll be able to figure out a new schedule and re-continue this! i haven't lost focus and haven't lost motivation... i want more people to download 'rainy sunday' and enjoy it for what it is!
and rock on for being female. seems tough to meet females in a minecraft world :smile.gif:
hello everyone! just wanted to give everyone a small updated. version 0.06 for now! i haven't had the time to come back to fix the things that needed to be fixed and work on any content until this last week. i hope that i'll be able to work on mobs soon as i know that is taking just forever! any support would be appreciated, thanks for downloading in advance - and of course, let me know if anything is out of the ordinary or if you'd like to see anything that isn't added!ordinary

Trying it now.
Snow texture is off from the snow grass just a tad.
wow! what a compliment! thanks, jayzzee. made my day.
It's Twilight Forest, it could be great atmosphere for RainySunday :biggrin.gif:
I've been using it. It's really cool.
