This texturepack is absolutely stunning! :smile.gif:
thank you, ryanyink! this is my first texture pack. i am excited to get it out to everyone!
i hope you enjoy it! i have a few updates coming soon, i hope :smile.gif:
Yeah it is rather nice.
I like the gold in the chest.
But the flowers on the grass really don't tile very well.
Maybe you could use a single pixel for flowers and randomize their positions a bit more.
thank you for your positive outlook and your constructive criticism!
i got the idea for the gold after the chest would close, and you'd get a quick-second glimpse of the inside.
seemed like a good idea at the time.
the dandelions were the very first texture i worked on, so i am thinking you may be right;
might be a good idea to go back and reposition them. thanks for your feedback, much appreciated.
It's great. Really like the gui stuff like the logo, the hud, and the inventory. It's definitely got the mood you're trying to express.
Might want to change the tree colour a bit. To my eyes the leaves sometimes get mistaken for grass because the leaf texture is so solid and very close to the grass colour. Maybe some darker leaves would help diversify the landscape a bit?
And one more suggestion, the words on your gui screens are hard to read, like here:
A light box behind the area where the word appears would help.
Anyways really great job, I'll be keeping an eye on this :wink.gif:.

wow, andre, fantastic criticism - the tree color is bothering me, so that will be next on my list. the trees be cohesive with the landscape is needed, but not to the point where they bleed into everything. and your suggestion on the gui's is absolutely correct - i'll keep that on my list as well - i'll be adding some lighter shading behind the words to make them pop.
Edit: And you got AndreJolicoeur to comment on this?! Holy crap!
yes! thanks a bunch, earthapocalypto! i hope you enjoy it. if you see any errors or find anything you think might make it better, please let me know. i have quite a few things to work on :wink.gif:
Other than that, I'm still testing. :3
Bloody great so far.
yes, definitely will be adding texture to the water - i am a bit confused on the motion of lava for "custom.png" files. not exactly sure how that works, but will be investigating on how to finish it. it is definitely on my list. i enjoy the color of the water, but it definitely needs to "move".
i really appreciate your feedback and optimism. thank you!

Edit:
Clock doesn't work.
Also, Jack o' lanterns just lit up pum'kins?
You might wanna fix that some.
wrote that on the progress list to keep track of all of this, thanks!
yeah, jack o lanterns are still in progress... i had the idea of doing something simple and not having a cutout at all,
but i'll go back to the drawing board and make it more interesting. definitely need eye holes, etc.
not sure about the clock! thanks for mentioning that. i must have missed it.
Here, have some pics of my cottage in hardcore that I made by hand :biggrin.gif:
Naturally, it's raining. xD
hey, fantastic! nice cottage you have there, hehe. i need to get back to building - been working on this texture pack for so long!
i have a "v2" of rainy•sunday saved back - the only difference is, the water is murky and the rain is more dreary to match.
i may just add those as alternate .pngs - and also add an alternate clouds.png with less clouds - for those that want more sunshine :wink.gif:

I've been working on my own texture pack, so I know how it feels to work on them :3
On another note related to my pack, this is great inspiration!
Also, that is a good idea. Most packs have an alt folder i.e. LoafCraft.
Hope this turns out well! :biggrin.gif:

yes! always good to have an alts folder. i am no expert at pixel art, i do graphic design for a living, so working at this scale is tedious - and i love it! haha.
i've used loafcraft before, really interesting shades of "sherbert"! haha. i call it sherbertcraft :biggrin.gif:
i'll be updating as soon as i can - i already fixed the clock!
Good! I love to see different clock .pngs, especially ones like SummerFields.
DAT CLOCK.
yes! i just checked it out... i have been using summerfields for quite awhile now - and alternating between that, jolicraft, and isabella. they are my biggest inspirations.
i actually started rainy•sunday back in september, and when i came across summerfields - i was very inspired to keep going. i like the idea that he has going - very bright, cheery, and authentic.
on the opposite of that, i think isabella is just brilliant. so murky and dreary. very touching, though.
and of course, i think it goes without saying that as soon as jolicraft hit the boards, it's just been brilliant!
the inspiration behind rainy•sunday was the feeling i got every time a storm would pass, and i would walk outside and you could just smell the grass and everything felt so green and crisp. it's such a peaceful scene.
Excellent work, mate!
With a few tweaks, It\ll be one of my favorite packs.
With few tweaks I mean:
-The little flowers in the grass. They are very cool on small chunks of grass, but when looking to a larger piece, it's quite disturbing. You may want to add an alternate.
-As said, The leave colors, but also a bit more detail to it (Like in the colors)
-The birch log looks a bit too white and bright for me.
-The ores. They look almost great, it just seems that they just stick on the stone. What will look good is a bit lightning and shadow. If you want I can make an example tomorrow. But seeing your skills on the other textures you must be able to do that!
These are just minor things. Your pack is stupendous! I will defenitely keep an eye on this.
ah, fantastic! really great feedback, d1amondf1st!
and you are right, that grass needs some tweaking. it's in my progress feed... i hope to make it right for everyone - something that will still be the poetic pack i want, but more importantly, satisfy everyone else.
yes, the birch is quite bright... especially when it is raining, it sticks out like a birch! :wink.gif: i'll do my best to dumb it down just a bit.
thanks for the suggestion on the ores. i will write that in the progress list and make sure to work hard on it.

Lava and water textures D:
Gotta have 'em.

Looming storm clouds ftw
I've been looking for that site for a while! D:
Thanks for posting it here, I need that.
