i have some awesome ideas for some texture packs, but i don't know how to make them. i know that you can just edit your terrain and stuff, but i wanna be able to post it on the forums so other people can use it. a detailed description would be nice

Give me fire and a sword, and we'll see what happens
ok. This is how. You edit the terrain.png and pixel art for hours xD You can also do the items and stuff. Then you get a dropbox account or media fire or whatever media sharing website! Then compress (zip) all the files. The terrain.png, the gui folder, all the texture related folders. then you upload to site and copy the link! Then post! Have fun making texture packs! I sure had fun making mine :biggrin.gif:
Edit the PNG files found in the minecraft.jar to your liking.
Put these in a zipped (compressed) folder named what you will.
Test your texture pack in game, take pictures.
Upload pictures to an image hosting website (Picasa, Imageshack, ect.)
Upload the texture pack zipped folder to something like Mediafire
Paste the images into a new thread.
Paste the file URL you get from the file hosting site into the new thread.
Post the new thread.
