i have started a new texture project. it IS NOT done yet. the reason is i want YOU to go through the development as it progresses. dont like a look, give a yell on the thread and i might fix it if a lot of people agree.
DISCLAIMER: Since i have NOT finished, most blocks/items are default. Ill update this VERY frequently to add more textures GRADUALLY, i am trying to get all blocks done by the end of thanksgiving break. The items, i am unsure of. i just would like for you to stay with me as this pack updates. (probably daily)

I would suggest GIMP. It's one download, almost as good as PS and you don't need internet to use it.
This looks pretty simple and the shadings and noise is bad. :sad.gif: I'm sure you'll do a bit better with paintnet or gimp. :smile.gif:

Bug fixes: no more white-thing with blocks that arnt full blocks, no more missing bits of chests

HOW TO INSTALL:

download file (i recommend putting it on desktop) make sure it is a compressed .zip!
place it or copy in either:
windows: %appdata%\roaming\.minecraft\texturepacks
mac: users\library\applicationsupport\minecraft\texturepacks
MAC: if you downloaded it as a normal folder, please right-click, then compress
WINDOWS: most likely, you are fine
dont worry, the file includes all 1.0.0 blocks and animations!
bugs: NONE AT THE MOMENT! :smile.gif:

the texture pack is incomplete, so, a .zip might make INVISIBLE items.

About the paint thing, get gimp 2.6, its free. And i hope no other blocks you paint will look like the ones i paint.

you can now use mediafire instead,
wood logs and ores have been barcafied.
