After editing the Terrain PNG in Minecraft.jar (something I usually don't do for obvious reasons) and adding some textures from another texture file from a texture pack, the grass has been looking funny and I haven't even changed the grass.
I tried running the MCpatcher, but it doesn't seem to solve the issue. I tried to run the graphics on Fancy, which worked, but only works for as long as I have the graphics on fancy. I also now have the issue of some blocks of dirt looking completely covered in grass.
I assume at this point it's best to just replace the Terrain file and leave it alone after that, but what could be causing the issue in the first place?
