I'm creating a texture pack. It's finished and ready for release but the pack.txt always says gibberish and not what I put in! Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have no clue why it is having this problem. Are you sure you are saving it? :blink.gif:
If you're saving it correctly, have the right text, and you have it in a .zip file correctly that's in your texture pack folder in .minecraft, then it should work. If you're dragging it into the minecraft.jar, it won't.
Run by this checklist:
1) Did I enter in all the text I wanted?
2) Did I save it?
3) Am I copying the updated file?
4) Did I put it in the same folder as my terrain.png, particles.png, and pack.png?
5) Am I compressing it correctly? Is it in .zip form?
6) Am I placing the correct .zip into the "texture packs" folder in the .minecraft folder?
If you answered "yes" to all of these, you should be good.
Does it have to be saved/edited with a particular program? I'm using pages and textedit, but when I convert to a .txt file it messes it's self up again.

If you open up the .txt file outside of Minecraft and it's screwed up, it's going to be screwed up in-game. What's wrong with just using Notepad?

Just use notepad. I don't see why you need any specific program to edit that. lol

The same thing happens to me. When I try to make animated and colored descriptions, it types random symbols in place of the § sign. It even does this when I type normal descriptions.
Here's what I want my text to say:

Im sure I'm saving it. Every time I open the file it says what I put in, but when I compress and activate it, it says random crap.
"Friends are like snowflakes-if you pee on them, they disappear."
You're saving it in the area with pack.png, terrain.png, particles.png, and the other folders, correct?

What do you want it to say? Write it out as you want it and I will give you the pack.txt since it will not work for you.
