I completely redid my netherrack. I'm pretty sure I'm digging it, but I also considered playing around with the color. What if netherrack were blue? Anyhoo, here's another texture preview for the next update.
I really like this pack. It has a nice "feel" to it, if you know what I mean.
I really like those new textures too. Although I think that the netherrack might be a little over saturated, its a little hard on the eyes. The new dirt looks nice and the cobble is pretty awesome!

I'll keep my eye on this one. Good job MopyDream!
Hey thanks a bunch! :smile.gif: Yeah, I have to play with the colors a bit more with the rack. I've seriously considered doing a blueish version, but I'll probably stick to the reddish one for the main texture. I'll see if I can make the rack a bit more muted.
Love the new stuff, plus I'm really happy you have more feedback now too! :biggrin.gif: Congrats, Mopy!
Hey thanks Davtiln! I still haven't redone the crafting table, but that's high on the list. I want to get most of the tiling issues resolved for the next update! :smile.gif:
**Sorry for not responding to you guys sooner. My internet started crapping out on my last night, and I was having forum fails!**
People from the Union have been Livestreaming lately, and I thought I would give it a shot. Be warned, I'm still new at this, and I move very slow. Check it out if you're interested!
Sorry I haven't posted or updated in a while. I think the next update will be pretty major. I've been redoing textures, and I don't really want to update again until the terrain.png is mostly finished (though I've said that before lol). I may do one update before the terrain.png is completely finished that fixes most of the major tiling issues. Anyhoo, I may post some of the new textures I've been working on a bit later.
Also, a group of texture artists, myself included, have been working on creating a Livestream tutorial for making textures. Join the discussion if you are interested in viewing or hosting the Livestream.
Here are the textures I worked on during my Livestream.
The first texture will either be stone brick, or the double stone slab side and top. I will be making another stone texture with bigger bricks. Any suggestions?
The middle texture is the side of TNT.
The last texture is the new top for the sticky piston. I toned down the wood, so it doesn't look yellow anymore. I also changed the slime balls a bit!
I am shooting for a New Years update, but I'm reworking nearly everything, so the terrain.png might not be finished by then. Here are more new (and/or retextured) textures: stone, wooden planks, mossy cobble, gold block, clay brick, and diamond block.
I also retextured the grass, but I fear it may be too plain. I'm going to play around a bit more with it.
1. I love this pack! I think it's very psychedelic and sort of joli-craft-ish. Though, it's a bit too bright for my taste (it's a bit painful for the eyes D:)
2. I really like your colouring, it's very different and original!
3. You have some tiling problems (just like me lol <3), but I'm sure you'll have it fixed over time. The grass sides doesn't seem to fit the top? I absolutely ADORE the cobble, but it looks odd when made into stairs.
4. Again, it's a bit painful for the eyes, and sometimes there are sort of odd pixels around (I don't know if it's on purpose or not.) As an example, the "mushroom grass stuff" block has a green pixel on all the corners, when the blocks are right next to each other it looks nice with a little green dot, but when you look on the border of the block with no other block beside it, it looks out of place. My solution: Put the green spot in the middle (or anywhere else but the corners) of the block, instead of on the border, this will keep the effect without having the green spot looking out of place :tongue.gif:
5. Obviously this is still in progress and I can't wait to see the final product!
(And thanks for the support on Dark Side Has Cookies <3)

Wow! Thank you so much for the detailed feedback :smile.gif:.
1. psychedelic...yeah I can see that my pack has subtle psychedelic undertones, and Jolicraft is one on my main inspirations. Honestly, hang around enough these forums, and it's hard NOT to be inspired. There are so many creative and talented people, but I digress. :smile.gif:
2. Thank you so much. I love color, and playing around with it, but I probably will desaturate a few of the new textures, as they are a bit too bright!
3. Ahh yes! Tiling {{{curses}}}. Actually I've been going through the terrain.png to resolve the tiling issues. I hope to have all my tiling issues resolved by the next update! Many of my textures are fixed, but I still have a few to go. I am still not sure if I release an update purely for the tiling issues, or if I will wait until the terrain.png is complete. I will say this. Tiling is a huge pain in the butt, but it does get easier over time!
4. The mycellium will be completely changed. I honestly had no idea what that texture even was when I first created it, so I thought I would have some fun. I only recently saw it tiled in large portions, and I was like "Ohhhh....Ohh...no! It's awful" Sorry worry not. I'm going to get rid of that odd pixel and everything else around it lol.
5. Again, thank you so much for the feedback and support. I want to update it by the end of December, and I'd love to get more quality feedback like this on the update! It really helps to either confirm things I was already wondering about, or see things I didn't notice!
Also, can I haz cookie bed please :wink.gif:! Keep up the great work on the Darkside!
Feedback is awesome. You don't HAVE to desaturate it, unless it's really what you're aiming for. I really like the new mushrooms you made in your livestream (I didn't watch that though, I was out shopping for christmas presents), I'm glad you're getting rid of the green dot in the mycelium, it's really bothering. It's like TEASING me and laughing at my face. And tiling :tongue.gif: Lots of tiling, good that you've done some already. Can't wait till' next update!
The cookie bed is in :biggrin.gif: I'm not fully satisfied with it yet :tongue.gif: Might make another version (added folder with alterneative textures)
I know I don't have to desaturate them :wink.gif:. I like playing around with everything though. I'm glad you like the muchroms. I do too! I put up my livestream at least once a week, so there will be more chances to watch if you want to, but no pressure :wink.gif:.
Have you ever wanted to visit another world? Have you ever wondered about the possibilities of the universe and imagined what somewhere and some-when else would look like? Art is magic! It has the power to take us anywhere we can imagine. My art seems to fit somewhere between reality and dreams, and somewhere between surreal and abstract. The same seems to be true of my texture pack. Puddle Place is a [WIP] 16x16 texture pack, and is inspired by an album I created for the RPM challenge in 2007 under the name Bee-Sting Proof Suit. I've put a lot of effort into this texture pack because I wanted to create a new look for my Minecraft worlds. I am really proud of what I've done so far, and I really wanted to share it with you!

I think I'm getting better at tiling. Woot!
Also, should I fix the dark spot on the netherrack? It doesn't bother me too much, but I could use another opinion. :smile.gif:
ummm were is everyone?
Those textures are all great. But I don't think the cobble would taste good on toast.
I really like those new textures too. Although I think that the netherrack might be a little over saturated, its a little hard on the eyes. The new dirt looks nice and the cobble is pretty awesome!

Yay for puddle stomping! I think I scared everyone away with the toast comment lol. Thanks a bunch for the support 42! :smile.gif:
