Actually, as of the more recent patches sometimes Skeletons and Zombies are seen wearing chainmail armor. At least, I've seen a couple in my unmodded single player map. Also, according to the patch notes, chain can be traded for from blacksmiths, albeit rarely.
Never knew this. That makes it even better to take my idea for the chainmail the zoms and skeles that spawn with it will be more mutated and harder to kill than their less mutated cousins and every now and then the survivors will find infected and destroy them, and attempt to rid themselves of the infected tissue :DDDDDDDD
Can I make some changes to this texture pack for my Arkham City map? It will mainly be gadgets, paintings, and mobs. (Because creepers are the DC equivalent of terrorists) Is that ok?
If you give me credit for what I made and link back to this thread, that's all I ask
Alright everybody! I am freshly married, free from planning a wedding, and well-relaxed from a wonderful honeymoon.
SO! Back to making pixel art.
Tonight I'll be starting in on some new goodies and exploring the 1.5.2 update.
I was bored today so I tried my hardest to think of every suggestion and idea I had for this texture pack, and so I decided to share them with you all. I have a lot, so I am going to try to organize them into the categories of mobs, items, blocks, and Other. I will do this because I have no idea how to use spoilers and would gratefully appreciate the knowledge of how this is done. This post was made specifically for Santiago to read.
Note: This Post is Extremely Long. Due to no spoilers and all. I can shrink it down if someone tells me how to do spoilers X3
Mobs:
Enderman: I think that the enderman should be some type of mutant alien thing with a teleportion device or something.
Blaze: This shoulld be some type of battered and rusty Robotic sentry, hence the smoke that it produces, and the blaze rods should be some type of launcher that shoot out the charges. Blaze powder can be the ammo you get inside the torn off launcher.
Cave Spider: Basically similar to the Hell Maggot, but somewhat lighter in color, due to living underground, and instead of red, the mandibles should be greenish, due to poison.
Silverfish: Similar to a type of Mutated alien grub, due to them being only found in the abandoned underground research facilities, and being close to the shutdown Planetary Teleporter.
Passive Mobs: Cow, Pig, Sheep, Chicken, and the soon to be horse should all be realistic, although I am sure you will add your own personal touches
Mooshroom: Basically a Cow, but covered in the Mutant Fungus.
Wolf: The normal wolf should appear to be somewhat mutant/infected, but when it becomes aggressive the infection/mutation should spread throughout its body. That will certainly give someone a scare! When tamed, all traces of the infection/mutation are removed by the player.
Cat:Basically Realistic, although done in patterns similar to Large Cats such as tigers, to make the scaring of the creeping mutants more realistic.
Ender Dragon: A terrifying flying war machine of horrible power made by the aliens that inhabit their small and completely infected moon.
Wither Skeleton: This is a rather good idea in my opinion. The infection, left unchecked in the newly discovered dimension, has gained the ability to reanimate the bones of the dead! Basically, the wither skeleton is a skeleton, completely covered in the mutant substance, able to move on its own to spread the virus. Any missing bones are replaced by the infected mass of tissue.
Wither: When the Mutant substances found int he bones of the infected is allowed to cross with the fungal growths in the soft rocks of the Infected Dimension, this horror is born! It shoots masses of burning tissue at any living organism it can find!
Magma Cube: Similar to the slime of the overworld, this is a burning mass of infected tissues that have gathered together. The origin of their fireproofing is a mystery.
Items:
Tools: I feel that this is perfect just the way it is.
Armor: No complaints, however, I believe that since chainmail is unobtainable in normal survival, that it should be a special armor. Basically It shows the player horribly mutated and covered in wounds. The basic just-came-back-from-the-dead kinda thing. If caused by a virus, zombified armor. If revived from the radiation, Mutated Corpse! Its your decision.
Food: No real complaints here. Just wanted to commend you on making the poisonous potato a gopher. That was genius.
Animated Textures: I believe that some of the items need animated textures to make it seem realistic. Like the Diamond gear items having moving parts, such ast the chainsword and chainsaw working, or the drill spinning. The redstone ore can have a spark or two come out of it every now and then, and the Gold ore can glint every now and then. The diamond armor can have moving parts as well, and so can the other items.
Item Ideas: The stuff from the end is extremely high tech, such as the ender pearl being a power core of the alien teleporter, and the eye of ender being a floating homing device? Enchanted books are also similar to the book on the enchantment table, the redstone comparator is similar to the repeater, and the Diamonds are changed to circuitry.
Blocks:
Wool: With the new hardened and dyeable clay block coming out, I thought it would be nice for everyone if the current wool textures would be moved to the dyeable clay blocks, and the current wool textures from TEiEV being moved to this pack, with the dyes possible being tweaked a bit to fit both the wools and the clay. It would resolve the issues people would have with carpets, and also allow for a lot more customization for people, and the wool blocks would be more rocklike, which would make more sense with their textures mostly appearing metallic or hard.
Sandstone: I feel that the normal sandstone block does not fit in well enough in the deserts, as i have found a large number of occurences where it looks extremely weird and unnatural. I would think that you could merely move the texture for the smooth sandstone block or whatever its called to there, so that it will look more natural.
CTM: The CTM for the pack needs to be redone. I would also like some ctm for the gold, diamond, and lapis blocks to help them look better when you put two of them in a wall and them not looking quite so strange together. CTM for the wools would be nice also, if the other idea mentioned before is not taken. Also There is something that has been bugging me for the longest time: the glowstone block. The fact that it only faces correctly North and South is annoying, as I would like to use it for lights on my buildings without it facing a strange way. Is it possible for CTM to make it so that the glowstone blocks get together and face the direction that two of them face? Also, can CTM make it so that if large amounts of obsidian form, they look more like actual obsidian?
Animated Textures: I feel that a few Animated Textures for some blocks is not out of the question. Some flashing lights for the redstone block, Some animated textures for the other ore blocks, Netherrack or soul sand looking extremely creepy with movement, The generators blinking lights, the glowstone, redstone lamps, and torches flickering, the grass moving with the wind, that sorta thing.
Other:
Enchanting: Is it at all possible for you to change the purple of the enchantments to the blue that is used in the ench table or portal?
Health, Hunger, and other Bars: These should be actual bars, not icons.
Sky: Can the moon be somewhat red at night, with a few very visibly explosive made craters?
Random Mobs: Women Villagers, Some wither skeletons having different bones missing, More than one type of creeper, One more type of skeleton, 2 different types of each passive mob. (Not asking for a lot of variance, just some variety.)
Menu: Turn the creative menu into a high tech mechanical display, with it looking like you are selecting the item from a machine.
Well those are all of my ideas I had for this pack since I was first introduced with Hypixel's Map. I hope that these ideas will be heard and help in some way in the making and updating of this pack, but I can understand if these ideas are not used. Thank you for your time for reading these many, many suggestions.
I think these are some really good ideas, and I have a few things to add. What if the bone looked a bit more like a syringe? It would make the idea of "curing" the infected wolf much more believable. Also, the chain armor is now available through trades, so maybe it should look a bit more like battered winter clothing (something a survivor would sell). This could give a cool effect when worn by a zombie or skeleton. I like pretty much all of the other ideas, but maybe some of the wither skeletons (assuming randommobs is enabled) should have some traces of torn hazmat suit, displaying then as if they were the infected scientists in a farther stage of the disease.
And lastly, my own personal idea regarding the nether brick. Maybe it should look more industrial, resembling a wall of a factory. This would make the nether fortresses have a much more apocalyptic feeling, and would go nicely with the pigmen.
Just resize the picture in an editing program (Preferably something that supports transparency like Paint.net) to a perfect square. (16x texture packs 64x64, 32x being 128x128, in this case, 128x128) and before you do that, select the zombie texture and press CRTL-C, then CRTL-V when you resize it.

-some black textures (wooden fences and gate, top of redstone lamp),maybee a ctm missing textures
-clock and compass texture are brocken due to the new texture system of them,it's now like an animated texture
I already fixed the clock myself,if someone want it,pm me
-trapped chest and ender chest have default textures
-potatoes and carrots don't have the same texture when they grow, one have default texture
-a lot of new item texture are missing (but only for new 1.5 content,so it's just an outdated problem)
-ender pearl and eyes have default texture, bottle o'enchanting too,so it's just a missingtexture problem
I'd just like to know something : how to add mods texture in a texturepack?
I need to do that for my custom version of this texturepack used on my private server
I stayed up until 5 am unstitching this work of art. I regret nothing.
lol, you have a special tool for that, called "unsticher" and since there is new resources system you gotta do the same stuff again, there is tool for that as well
I'm a huge fan of your work, and I have a question for you. When you finish everything you want to do, would you be willing to do some mod support? The mod I had in mind was actually the mutant creatures mod ( http://www.minecraft...nderman-v134/)
I think this would look fantastic in your style. It would also look pretty good while playing Letters From a Dead Earth.
Tell me what you think! thanks for your time.

Dear Santiago3,
A while back you had mentioned making a texture pack similar to The End is Extremely Nigh (awesome name for the texture pack btw!) I believe the texture pack was called The End is Here. I do understand that you are very busy person and probably rarely get the chance to work on this amazing texture pack, however, I was just curious to know if you intended to go through with your plan to make The End is Here.
Also, I noticed that on the buttons and pressure plates, CTM was working on the Vanilla pack . However, once I switched to the Nigh pack, it stopped working. Was there a CTM completed for Nigh?

From what it sounded like santiago started working on the CTM for Nigh but that it would be in the next version of End is Nigh. He'd obviously started working on the CTM when 1.4.7 came out, but it was still a work in progress.
I have an idea for a name for the bow too.
"S-14 Dart Propulsion Device"
Never knew this. That makes it even better to take my idea for the chainmail

Can't wait, Minecraft really isn't the same for me without a little apocalypse happening.
Congratulations! That's all awesome news! I hope things go great for you.
