Maybe experiment with making the cauldron/hopper some kind of industrial ducting like that one wool block?
Actually gonna turn it into a 55 gal drum with 3 striations so that it fits both designs. It's just bothersome because it feels like an unnecessary re-make Oh well!!
The pressure plates? Or the blocks? The blocks you can stack into a pyramid and place a beacon block on top of to give buffs. The pressure plates that are made out of gold and iron are weight-sensitive, so you can calibrate them to give a different signal depending on how much pressure is on them, I think.
The hopper is probably just a temporary texture ATM. It has a slot in the terrain.png that says "WIP", and will presumably be placed around that. (So don't remake the cauldron quite yet!)
The Gold and Iron pressure plates are both pressure sensitive, it takes just under a stack to get the gold plate to give off full signal, and several for the Iron plate.
So, Gold =Light, Iron=Heavy(As it tells in-game)
Well, in the Vanilla version they're A-OK, in the Nigh version they're wonky looking. Dunno what I wanna do about that yet. I really do like the idea of them being used as extra shelves instead of having double/triple duty elsewhere. Hmm.
Glad you are back working on the TP, I'm about to release a map using your beautiful texture pack!
My map Herobrine's Mansion got 1.5+ million downloads in 2 months and I hope this map will hit as much and the texture pack is required to play for this one!
I saw your teaser images on your facebook and it blows up my mind,I can't wait
I'd like to ask for an alternate colored cloth extra texture pack, having all of the primary colors. And then you could color the textures you already have for cloth to the corresponing vanilla textures.
Edit: Oh hey I found that you already have that one!
Going through the new blocks, it should be cool to work with. I actually had the idea of giving the redstone block the current pumpkin texture, freeing up the pumpkin to be some sort of moble floodlight... thing, maybe? Could be cool. Plus, then you could literally hook all your redstone devices up to a generator!
Also, for the nether quartz... Maybe some sort of metal plating, or decorative building material like the sandstone?
For the redstone block: What about a sort of control cube with spinny buttons and gears and lights, a lot like the texture for the jukebox with its greenish color? Then you could have a central processing station, or a really cool accessory for say, the helm of an airship.
I almost couldnt believe that you came back my minecraft has been so dull with out your pack *softly weeps* cant wait to see you fix the leather armor due to the new ability to dye certain parts of it, it will be so cool im sure.
Man, the new update is both a blessing and a curse... how much reworking will it be to reformat the texturepack for the individual item/block files?
UNGH, is that why my new textures didn't show up?? BLURGH... I hate rework! Okay, back to the drawing board.
Just finished up the redstone block (It's going to be a stackable computer server, neat, huh?) and the Light Detector (both on and off, it's a solar panel, now!). Also flipped the onions/beets around like they should be.

Good ideas all around. I'll keep 'em in mind for when I tackle the quartz, etc.
Is the quartz like the sandstone in that it has a top/sides/bottom? I guess I should go investigate!

What's the real use of having them in the new build? Purely aesthetic?

Retired Staffit lets you have a lot more control over the game's auto-tinting.
for example, your trash lilly pads appear ingame green:
but with a color.properties file configuring the lillypad color to be #ffffff (aka white) it lets the intended color show.

Oh snap. I would LOVE that.
Uh... Okay, that's going in.
