I'm back to working on stuff, folks! I really want to get the golem wrapped up as well as the armor done for the next release! Then it's just passive mobs, a re-do of the Creeper skin, a UI re-hash, and we're all set!

Inventory of your backpack... complete with "ID photo" space for the character and post-it note "recipe" for making simple goodies.
tis an amazing concept!
one thing though, on the post-it, the shading at the bottom where the note appears to curl outward is a bit off.
it's like the shading and the curve are opposites. it might make a bit more sense if the innermost part of the curve were dark, fading back to light where the post-it ends, and in the main body.
also, the shadow doesn't quite reflect the shape...

I can definitely fiddle with the shading on the curve though, it's a tricky bit for sure. Thanks for the critique!

The shape of the shadow is to emphasize the shape, actually like if light were coming down from above making its shadow warp to the direction of the light itself.

i can see that, yeah, but... that actually makes the shading a bit harder to understand, since that puts the light source directly above the paper, and a bit off to the right.

Yeah, it can be a little wonky to try and push 3D shading in 2D space that Minecraft's UI allows. I am going for the post-it being sorta loosely connected to the wallet/backpack/leather thingy... maybe I'll tinker with it more.
a good trick for shadows (not sure if it applies here, depending on how far from the wall you want the curled end) is to have the shadow blurrier for objects further from the shadow itself (or whatever it's cast on) and sharper for objects closer to their shadow.

True, but it also depends on the style you're shooting for too. Most of my shading in this pack is broad swatches of clean color, even if it is a gradient.

of course making your own rules is always an option when you have a specific style
sharper contrast does indeed suit your theme better.
Oh yeah, those too
Work's never finished! haha...
Anyhow, on to a MUCH needed UI overhaul.
Happy Birthday Santiago i never realized your were twelve in the apocalypse
