As wonderfully gory as the new zombies are, I prefer the older Silent Hill-esque ones. Are these alternate textures included in the new pack or do I need to extract them from an older version?
Either way, lovely pack, very glad to see it finished. Kudos!
I was just wandering, do you think you could make the stone stairs like the shelves of an abandoned store? this is just a suggestion and i know it sounds kind of stupid, but i was just wandering.

the only way to change the stair texture is to change the texture it's derived from. In other words, to change the stone stairs, he'd have to change the stone block, which wouldn't work so well for your suggestion.
Wow, this is great! The textures are pretty high-quality for 32x32, and that's the most detail i've ever seen put into a chest! I'm usually never into modern-ish texture packs, but this may be an exception. Also, this reminds me of that " 3047 " game, except much prettier imo. Keep up the work!

Pretty much. That and the texture you're describing is the same texture all the way around. Top, sides, and bottom. That means that whatever's on it has to look good from every angle and that means being closer to the "generic" end of the slider, rather than the "detailed" end of the slider.
About passive mobs, they could look skinny, and dirty, like cows in fallout 3 (whithout the double head!).
Skeletons could look like zombified soldiers (using the gun you designed, would be coherent).
Nice Job you did here! I'm using it with Wasteland mod, and it's just perfect!

It's a cool idea though!
one idea for that if it was possible to abuse a mechanic in the HD patcher, is to make a custom "animation" for the stairs that isn't actually animated, having it override the normal stone texture(not sure if the animations go by tile number or block ID). just a thought anyway
Edit: i saw your post about not knowing how it make animations, the process is pretty simple. you take a series of terrain tiles and arrange them vertically in a sheet, so each tile becomes a seperate animation frame cycling from the top to the bottom, all you have to do is name that sheet so it says what tile you want it to replace
you can download summerfields for a few sample animations so you can get the idea, and the page for MCpatcher has an actual guide for how to set up animations under "Information for Texture Pack Authors" at the bottom of the first post: http://www.minecraft...-hd-fix-234-01/

Hrmm... if I can do it per-face on the block then maybe? Otherwise it's just the same problem. Interesting idea all the same. I'll have to see if I can apply it to other textures/blocks!

only if the block has multiple defined faces, like a pumpkin or workbench.
my idea was more so you could "hack" in a totally different texture for stairs without replacing the texture it normally uses, though that's only feasable if animations are assigned by block ID rather than the space they occupy in terrain.png
either way, you could make a long animation where the lights on the generators gutter out from time to time, or have lightbulbs/gold tableware glitter
a short list of animation ideas(items can be animated too):
the exclamation mark on the enchanting table blinks in and out, while the "TV" on it flickers slightly and/or shows static on-screen
sparks coming off of redstone wiring
restored lapis pottery glints slightly
the mouths on "glowstone" open and close idly
the flame in the lit stove sways back and forth
the pumpkin/melon vines blink on and off when fully grown
netherwort squirms around
all the diamond tier tools have rotatingblades/pistons
glittering ores(duh)
glittering ore drops(also duh)
"rotten meat" has flies buzzing around it
cooked foods emit steam like they were freshly cooked and still hot

I freaking love this texture pack, it's my favorite at the moment. However, there is room for improvement:
Remove the stone from under the rail tracks, they look really odd when on a slope.
Water is not animated (no doubt you are working on this).
Obsidian looks a bit silly, it should be more stone like and less... Whatever it is now
The item selector is very hard to spot.
Also creepers are very hard to spot, but this is a good thing! It makes the game more challenging and exciting. I haven't jumped this hard from creepers in a while.
1. Yeah, sorta odd when it's on a slope, but I like it a lot when it's on the ground. I'll mull it over.
2. Animating the water will happen, just a matter of getting to it.
3. I'd be open to changing this if other people were on board. As it is now it's for building the gateway to the Nether (since I figure that's what most people are using it for) and combined with some of the art bits it looks really great. Gotta make sacrifices somehow!
4. Definitely going to change this and am kicking myself for not doing so in the current release. Bugs the **** outta me too.
Glad you like the creepers! I'm going to be building a higher rez version later that will help keep the creepy vibe
Getting better and better.
Santiago when you have time could you look the mod computercraft, i think i'll be really cool with your pack.
Anyway thanks for sharing your work

That's the mod I run it with too.

But i think the stone texture could be ''smoother''.
YOU ACTUALLY UPDATED IT
<s>I was thinking you were dead or something</s>
