Well it could be both a zombie AND alien invasion, รก la Half Life, in which case the organic feel of the Endstone would work well with a Xen type theme. Maybe there are two separate alien 'races' (ie. aesthetic themes or what have you) similar to how the Xen and the Combine are completely different yet still fit together? For instance, the End and it's inhabitants would have that gross, organic feel of 40k Tyranids/Starcraft Zerg (they're basically exactly the same) or the THING, while the Nether is a sort of primitive-yet-advanced thing in the style of, say, the Protoss from Starcraft or the Stargate aliens? (I haven't watched that show much but don't they have a whole Ancient Egyptian thing going on?)
Just thought that this sort of unspoken conflict in the background might add coherence to the different 'dimensions' or whatnot - of course all this is merely a suggestion so feel free to disregard the post entirely :smile.gif:
half..zombies and aliens...the end being xen...i love you in fact if something like thats done and a adventure map uses this texture pack and its a post apoc advetnure map they better include a easter egg for that
I am very for the Half-life-esk Zombie+Alien version. I Love the creepiness of the zombies, but don't want to say good bye to the awesome science-y stuff.
Hey Santiago, just want to give my two cents about your pack.
I think this is the only post-apocalyptic texture pack that has done it right, in my humble opinion, that captures all the essential concepts of what a post apocalyptic landscape should have in Minecraft while expanding on it further and adding unique concepts as well.
My only issue is the dependency of the texture pack, what I mean by that is I cant use this on any builds that I have built prior to using these textures because of the textures that would normally be a stone slab for example is wooden.
I would love if you made a variation that was for single player survival as opposed to what I view as a creative texture pack.

Thank you for all the kind words! I can see where you're coming from, but honestly I play it on survival mode all the time (and in the Wasteland mod no less!) and really don't have a huge issue with it outside of getting REALLY excited about finding wool, spiders (for their string), and various dyes. But then again, it makes it feel like maybe now I have a reason to venture out into the wastes each day. To brave death for a chance at black dye in a desert wasteland!
I'd likely keep things the way they are, but I know that when it comes to other packs being swapped in for mine there can be a bit of "BUH?!" factor to it on a few things, however, I think that's kind of the price one pays for the sake of better wool, gold, lapis, and diamond detail blocks :smile.gif:
Does that tackle what you're talking about or are you wanting something different?
Santi, with the addition of redstone powered lamps in the new snapshot, are you planning to change the current glowstone to lamps? What do you think you'll do with glowstone, if that is the case?

PS: Joy Division is awesome.
Mhm, I get that.
Also, major props for recognizing Ian.

I haven't played with the new snapshot yet. Can you take a screenshot of what you're talking about? I'm totally all for changing stuff to suit new advances in the game :smile.gif:
edit:
Apparently it's a new block/texture entirely. Ooooo, that could be fun! I'll get my mind to thinkin'! Any suggestions? I wish it had individual maps for it like the pumpkin or cauldron. Oh well!
Great! And maybe you could turn the Glowstone in a more streetlight-like lamp, if you know what I mean? And you could use the current Glowstone texture for the the Redstone lamp. I say this because you can't really use the new lantern for lamp posts- there has to be a Redstone torch or lever nearby to turn the lamp on. And that doesn't look really good on a freestanding lamp post. Also, maybe it's an idea to turn Nether brick into something metal. That will give us nice metal fences, and the metal stairs could look like corrugated iron roofing. That's a thing I miss in your texture pack: roofing. And more concrete would be nice too.
I still love your pack, though. Keep up the great work!
Interesting idea about the Nether Brick. I'll toy around with it and see what I like/don't like. I really do like the idea of it being carved alien ruins right now... but who knows!
Couple of ideas here. flint and steel could be a lighter (like a Zippo), Bucket of milk could be like a vial or syringe of anti-venom (not sure if that would make a whole lot of sense when it comes to making cake though but then again it isn't that much weirder then tomatoes with egg and milk), maybe edit the pumpkinblur.png as well to something like those night vision HUD shooter ones people do but in your apocalyptic style (Cracked glass sort of look but halfway functional kind of thing.
I feel 'flint' should actually be a small cylinder of flammable liquid. That way, it would make sense it being part of a lighter, and could also conceivably be part of an improvised bullet.
The flint is currently a smashed Bic lighter. Adding metal to it "repairs" it.
I really appreciate your texture pack, that I use with the Wasteland mod in Hardcore (this morning, i shouted "Holy ****, WHAT is THAT!?" when i met a creeper in a cave. You made them very scary! I was deeply frightened!
About Fishing: what if there was a piece of meat instead of a fishing bobber and fishes like piranhas or dangerous mutant (or both, gnark gnark gnark!)?

I'm not going to download it cuz I don't like apocolypse, but you are REALLY good.
You should make another one...
:smile.gif:
Totally noticed that too. In fact, I've been messing around with a modified wood texture and will be posting pics soon!
I'd like to do another release that at LEAST has all the items done. But holy **** are there ever a ton of items.
So, one day at a time. I'll try to get some goodies done at lunch for y'all :wink.gif:

Thank you very much for the job you're doing!
