...But first I need to know: Revolution or Origins in the signature? Personally I like Revolution better. Yell at me if you want something else!

I honestly think we need an entire site dedicated to this, to allow for easier communication.
But i know thats not gonna happen. Use skype and the new thread, along with other stuff for communication.
Also heres a little thing that I came up with while randomly talking to pallas....
I am bursting with suggestions and ideas Bones are pills The few surviving people who lived through the initial outbreak and subsequent devastation combed through the many pharmacies and drugstores, all in a vain hope that some medicine would cure them, and even after it was discovered that partially mutated wolves never fully turned until they were aggrivated, and that they could be cured, the people still searched blindly, even as they were mutated themselves.
Coal Block is a block of some hard material. It would help if Santiago gave us some names for what exactly the stuff he made is :/
zombies are those who died in the outbreak, the mutants are those who lived past the initial outbreak and were mutated. Cave Spiders are baby versions of the Hell Maggots (Spiders) and still have thin spindly legs, to assist them in climbing the underground passages that they inhabit. Soon after earth was destroyed by the invaders that SanTech had foolishly invited in by assembling a hyperspace teleportation portal and lost control of the mutagen in the process. Soon after, the aliens went back to their home moon with their indestructible flying fortress, and destroyed the huge amount of teleporter crystals needed to maintain the hyperspace teleporter. The mutant infection spead like wildfire. Those few in the facility were turned first, and then proceeded to infect the entire city. Many people hiding in their homes or just sleeping were found by the mutated. Many people did not know that even flesh separated from the host body was still capable of attacking (slime) and this caused an additional loss of life. A few researchers attempted to reclaim the facility, activating the defense drones (blaze) and the created mutants that had a cybernetic brain implant (Wither Skeleton) that allowed them to be controlled, but it was pointless. The acidic mounds of affected tissue (Magma Slime), and the sheer spread of mutation eventually took over many created mutants, burned their bodies, and took control of their brains, giving the hive mind of the infection access to all the facility's computers, reprogramming the drones with orders to attack friendly targets, and directing several burning masses to surround and control the many search and rescue ships (Ghast) that the rescuers had brought. Thankfully, the ultimate mutant cyborg was not released, as the data of its creation needed three normal cyborgs, and some genetic tissue that was kept hidden from the main network, allowing for the mutated to only mount an assault on the world, not dominate it completely. Many attack vehicles (Horses) were deployed, but completely ineffective. (pigs) curiously the dead stole many keys to the various motorcycles equipped with AI and hid them in the abandoned bunkers around the world as they searched for any survivors, who hunkered down and built protective structures as the I.R.O.N soldiers protected them with the only weapons that still worked against the hordes of infected: The SanTech Mech. 24 hours and the world was on the brink of annihilation. Bandits lived reclusive lives in swamps. Survivors wait to die in their hastily constructed homes. The secret underground SanTech Research facility is lost, and pools of infected waste are everywhere. Several animals have fused with the infection, and are now living new lives. The Infection withdrew to the research station, codenamed H.E.L.L. by the CEO of SanTech, and sends out its mutant minions to do its dirty work. That's where Steve wakes up.
I just finished reading the Last Days lore X3 maybe thats where the sudden burst of creativity lead off from that. I really am not that good at this when im not "in the moment"...maybe some of the lore and mob textures can be used from this Give this story to the guy in charge of lore. he may want this
I would also like Santiago to officially name this continuation the "official" continuation pack, so that those who plagiarize our work can be stopped, if no credit is given for our or santiago's textures.
I would also like santiago to say that we can use it for whatever we want as long as he is given credit. I want people to know who made these sexy textures.
Here are the possible block, item, and mob lore (Some ideas such as the giant tomato and the Police and military barding are not mine)
Beacon: High Powered Military Spotlight
Quartz Ore: Grey Iron ore embedded on Netherrack OR a block that looks like a crushed up car made into the shape of a cube.
Trapped Chest: TEiEN chest texture with blood on the back of the chest.
Block of Coal: A wooden crate filled with coal, one side texture has label that says "fuel"
Hay Bale: A Crate of Tomato Reserves OR a Ice Cooler filled with Tomato Preserves. one side texture has a tomato label. OR Giant Tomato fruit (Idea by someone else)
Horse Armor: Iron: Police Horse Barding (Blue Kevlar) Gold: Fancy Barding (golden horse armor encrusted with jewels) Diamond Armor: Military Barding (Camo Kevlar, similar to iron armor)
New Golden Apple: Glowing blue syringe (if possible, the texture must be animated, so that the stringe looks like it's bubbling
Lead: Long piece of rope
Wither Skeleton: The head is one big eyeball, the body is black and bloody.
Horse mules, and donkeys: Simple textures of each animal.
Stained Clay: Some wool textures from TEiEN will be used for stained clay.
Hardened Clay: Wasteland rock, it looks brittle and retains it's orange color.
I would also want to change old blocks texture, the Fern and its big counterpart can be alien plants, flowers can also be alien plants.
To be honest there is a problem with that idea with the plants. This problem has come up before, and I honestly think that it is quite common by people who dont realize that this is just the start of the apocalypse. Alien plants shouldnt grow that fast or the earth would be gone by then. Its logic.
I think that, however, the plants can be turned into other things that blend in with the natural landscape, Such as sunflowers being mini- solar panels, being somewhat rare and found in large groups, always facing towards the sun.
I feel that most of the textures should be based on real things in the world and given an apocalyptic twist, in a way that alone they seem like an ordinary texture, but when mixed together they provide an amazing atmosphere. take the cobble for example. alone it seems like an ordinary stonebick texture, but coupled together with the mossy cobble and a spawner, you have a bunker(dungeon)!
See what I mean? We can not go deviating from the core things of this pack and expect it to remain as popular as it is.
Revolution is the confirmed name of the texture pack
We need to make all this more organized. We need to find somewhere else to discuss this, so we aren't just making random textures for random blocks and items. Google+?
Sounds like a new thread is definitely in order, the sooner the better. While we should definitely not post our textures here, I think a banner would be ok until the new thread is approved.

I like the banner, but it needs to be more detailed. with animated flames. It i needs to be fitting for the continuation of this awesome pack
YES.
Also, I forgot to mention this earlier, NO CARTOONISH TEXTURES!
Anyway, I think I will make the new thread. I will post a link in the next comment. Message me if you need anything.
Never Mind too much work.
Think I will tell you what it need though, should you do it.
Pictures of the pack within a spoiler. Use all the ones you can find within the comments on this thread (there are lots and lots )
Santiago giving permission to use the files (plus naming us the official continuation)
What the file type is
How to install it
Possible banners and links to the banners, all contained within a spoiler
The names of the Official members of the team
Other links, such as the ones to the PMC posts, a download for the outdated versions, a link to here,
A link to the resource pack as it stands (my link),a link to the old language pack download, and any other important links. All can be found in the comments in this thread.
What our plans are for the pack
Completion statistics
A change log spoiler, for showing progress
A screenshot of a custom made building or artwork that we shall use as the title picture for the new thread, such as the one on this thread.
Color and correct formatting
A spoiler which contains credits for each new thing that we add, because we aren't going to make this ourselves
I believe that pallas himself should make this thread. He needs to show his leadership by making the thread and showing everyone who is in charge.
See why i don't want to make it ;D
Anyway, This all needs to be there. so get going.
Anyway, BodOwens,
You have to think back to the request Steelfeathers made about the bloody vines. It is just that it would look hideous to have a bunch of mutant plants everywhere.
Heres a good guide I like to think about when I am going to help decide on textures:
It is between 24 hours - 28 days later. The apocalypse has not yet set in. If there were mutant plants that grew to that height, they would have already choked off the planet's native species.
Salmon needs to be some of that trash you saw littering the ponds nearby thats floating along.
I vote we go realistic on everything in Santiago's style, then set in the apocalyptic stuff.
Umm....what is the pufferfish going to be? You use it to brew water breathing potions from a brewery and if you eat it its toxic....whats it gonna be
Salmon will be some other thing besides a can
We may need to rework a couple textures to fit into the new biome updates, like the stone beach and the deep ocean and the ice stuff.
How about using CTM to make 3 block tall cactus and actual cactus texture while the cactus keeps its
normal texture GENIUS
We need a custom site for this pack. Seriously. we can have our own little section for people to send in suggestion reports, another for textures, and the texture posts can not be seen except by the site admins (us) and we deny any not good enough for the pack and then at the end of each week we pick the best one and incorporate it into the pack *_* genius again!
I really need someplace to write this stuff down or archive it.
I must ask that you please excuse the silliness and the TL;DR thread, i am very tired. I am trying to be serious but it is very hard when your eyes keep closing on you. More on my ideas and stuff tomorrow.

I see your point, but isn't Mycelium and Giant Mushrooms also Alien fauna? I based the idea that other plants maybe some sort of alien plant to that.
But then again, my original idea for flowers are pieces of trash (literally), for example, we change the poppy texture to something like a.... red plastic wrapper? then a field of poppies would look like a garbage dump made specially for red plastic wrappers, that's why I didn't like the idea at first, since flowers being pieces of trash would only look good on the flower forest biome.

Beautiful. Love the new banner. I think Pallas16 should be the one to create the new thread though. Pretty much everything else is fine with me. Once we get organized we need to assign specific jobs to everyone, whether we are using google+ this forum or any other means of communicating each other. Santiago did say he'd be checking in from time to time to we probably could get him to say the new texture pack is official.

How about you just make the giant mushrooms alien plants?
You think giant mushrooms are similar to grass?
also, I want the wilderness to look a little nicer than a dump :/

Chill, I'm just adding some ideas. You just said that the texturepack takes place during the apocalypse right? not after, not before, but during the apocalypse:
It is between 24 hours - 28 days later. The apocalypse has not yet set in. If there were mutant plants that grew to that height, they would have already choked off the planet's native species.
A certain (note: It says "certain" not "everywhere") area being a dump seems logical during the apocalypse right? I mean the government collpased, trans-dimensional aliens invade the overworld, and there are zombies everywhere, who'll take care of the trash?

Also a question, who's in charge of this pack? [/size]
I wouldn't really say anyone is "in charge" of the new pack, but Pallas16 is really pretty much organizing it right now. I haven't heard from him in a little while though, so maybe we need to continue without him.

I see your point now. However, if you do choose to make the flowers random types of trash, be sure to make it so that it seems logical to get the certain color of dye from it. Just don't make them all trash, and make it nice.
I got a message from someone on Facebook that several folks are laying claim to the pack now (which, ya know, whatever you guys wanna do), but that they're also not giving me credit for the original artwork.
That's a no-no.
I don't care what people want to add on to the pack and claim as their own after they've done the work to make additions, but even after that if there's any of my artwork in the pack, please simply give me credit for the original idea and the original art. It's just polite. I will still jump back in here (and elsewhere) to assert my claims to the pack(s) if credit is not given. I don't wanna be a jerk about stuff, so let's all just be cool and respectful.
Also: as a socialist I totally dig the use of the word "revolution" being associated with the pack. Good idea!

I HAVE INSPIRATION!!!
the mesa biome can be your trash pit
when the wool textures get transferred over to the hardened clay, you can make dead bushes the trash and it will be awesome

Thank you Santiago. You will absolutely be credited for the original artwork in TEiEN:R.
May I make just one last request? If you have done any work on this at all since the 1.4.7 release, could you please release it to the public? I know I'm going to miss your pack, as I'm sure many others will, but maybe, could we just have one last taste of the apocalyptic beauty we've been following so long?
I think it would be a great way to say goodbye.
I hope to see your work again soon, sincerely, your fan -Oc0

Well, its a prototype, but here is an animated version of my TEiEN:R Banner.
Also, I forgot to mention this the first time around. The background of a burning city was originally Santiago3's artwork, just so we're clear!

Sure, in the PE packs I made I'm including a text file with credits n' links to the original threads since 0.7.4 because I've seen some people in youtube renaming the packs i.e. "The_End_Is_Extremely_Nigh_By_YoutubeUser.zip" and they reupload to their own accounts without giving credits to anyone else because they don't know where the pack comes from (or that's what they say....), and Youtube only allows claims if you're the owner of the content, so that's a problem too.
