I only suggested it because I do the same with other texture packs, when I use them. If there's something that really bothers me, I swap it out for the default or fix it myself. But usually only with things I think are broken or detract from the overall feel. Kind of like the animals probably do at the moment. Tomorrow you can expect another mob or three to be skinned to remedy that.

Is this as intended? Did you turn it off? Can you do that? Can you CHANGE what it sucks in? What if... what if you changed it to suck in 26 different line drawings of Mario themed icons? (mushroom, yoshi, fire flower, ect) THAT would be FREAKING AWESOME!!!
And to give a small comment on the Spotlight recently given by Dusty, he of course is entitled to his opinion, as of course are you, but MY input is to either keep the Mushrooms the size they are, or to not reduce them too much. Mario has BIG mushrooms. Always did. I think it looks perfect the way it is. Yes, Mooshrooms look absolutly ODD but thats a small price to pay to have authentic Mario-Shrooms dotting the landscape. Do what you feel is best of course, but thats my take on the subject.

Ain't that the strangest thing...I've double checked that the font file alternate.png is in its proper location in the texture pack. I'll see if mine behaves the same way...
As for the mushrooms, I think they look great everywhere except the cows. I will experiment with a smaller size of mushrooms but won't make a change unless they look awesome.
Progress update for the day because I haven't yet been able to compile and update the changes:
GUI/HUD slightly improved for better visibility
Particle effects are being worked on, running into a bit of difficulty though.
The Blaze is now that jumping-lava thing from SMW. Needs cleaning up, but it will work well.
Custom fire animation is being worked on. Lava and water animations are being improved.
A second Ghast in the style of the Big Boo is being worked on.
A Magikoopa skin and a Chargin' Chuck skin are being attempted for the human-shaped mobs. Mixed success so far.
So that's my day, some or all of these should be in tomorrow's update. Also, I just hit 20,000 downloads today!!

Working on that too! I've got a second Ghast in the editor as we speak. First priority is still the primary mob skins, but I'll work in as much variety as I can.

hey, in mario there are 2 noteblocks, one pink and other white.
Well I can't do anything about having multiple colours, so I picked the standard white one for the note block and jukebox. They share the same texture for the sides so I can't even make the different blocks different.

There isn't much exciting stuff in this one. Tonight I'll be working on a second ghast skin, some zombie pigmen skins, and the new snapshot stuff so I can be up-to-date. Anyway, the idea was to have the suits of armour be the Mario outfits, but they don't look especially nice just yet. I did them in a rush when I was concentrating more on content and less on quality (which is super rare).
Sadly, more work came up today, cutting into my slack time. If I'm feeling like sacrificing sleep tonight I'll put more work into this, since I don't want to be behind when 1.2 comes out. I've gone too long without a sleepless night anyway.

Apparently I need to update again for the 12w08A snapshot and find a monster to fit to the new mob. :smile.gif: This one should be much easier.
Oh, and don't worry about feedback so much, you've already contributed a lot and helped keep me motivated. For the most part I know what needs to be fixed and added. Priorities for this week are getting as many mobs as I can, then fixing the armour and possibly the Steve skin.
Also, I did elect to remove adf.ly in the hope that I can occasionally just get a dollar or two in donations. I know it does happen (I've donated to a couple modders myself) and can't really be much worse than adf.ly. I've only gotten about $15 from that anyway.
I'm installing Arch tonight and hopefully configuration will be quick enough that I can begin working tomorrow on the pack. We need better tall grass and mobs, especially dat Iron Golem.
I should tell you the Rex Zombies look amazing, great job! The moon is also an incredible touch. And the mushrooms are in fact smaller, but still look like mario mushrooms, something I wasn't sure could be accomplished. You continue to deliver in all the ways that matter dude, well done.
Out of curiosity what do you plan on skinning the Iron Golem into? A Charging Chuck? And what's your progress\thoughts on the other mobs we have discussed?
P.S. - I'm deployed to afghanistan at the moment, but my unit's rotation is nearing its end, and when I get home and return to secure internet connections, I plan on donating fyi. You definitly deserve it.
I'm pretty sure a charging chuck is the best option for the iron golem, since it seems to be built like a pretty beefy football player.
As for progress on other mobs: I think I've made very slight changes to the blaze since the last update, just little things to make it look nicer (it's that lava thing that shoots up in SMW, forgot the name). Ghast is going to have a second skin that is slightly blue like the Big Boo. I've dropped any plans for a magikoopa skeleton, I won't be able to make it look good. I've got my new OS installed and mostly configured, but the window manager doesn't play nicely with GIMP at all, so I'll have to fix that tonight before I work.
