I'm sure it already way solved before, but i really can't find the solution over this forum and the net so far.
I had trouble installing new texture pack since my minecraft crashed violently with a water texture mod. I had to reinstall everything and now the texture pack
i put as zip file in the texture file folder are not working anymore. When I open the game and go to the texture pack and mod selection screen, the new texture pack i added are in black in white and the description are missing.
I'm using a mac, but that should not be a problem. I'm using 1.8 minecraft and 1.8 compatible texture packs.

Anybody has that problem before?
Either your texure pack is a .rar (Needs .zip) or you are installing a HD texture pack, which requires doing more then draggin and droppin it in mods and texture packs.. and if not that, then the texture pack your trying to install is not a valid one.
WireFrameWallHacksV4.zip
It's a zip, downloaded from the minecraft wiki texture pack list and stated as version 1.8.1
It is not a HD texture, i was able to install the same one earlier today. Maybe I didn't uninstalled all corrupted file from my computer?
When I want to COMPLETELY remove minecraft (from a mac), I need to remove the actual game luncher, the minecraft save and texture pack folder in the "application support/minecraft" folder and the cmtcm file that holds all the game component. Have I forgotten something that could still be corrupted?
Edit: My computer can't run very well regular 16*16*16 texture pack... So HD is never getting in untill i get a better comp. Not even sure HD texture pack manager is available for mac...
The problem was that the mac unzip your file automatically upon DL. I zip them myself after the dl but i zipped the texture pack folder and not the component inside the folder.
So for everybody having the same problem, always open your newly dl texture pack folder and zip all the stuff INSIDE.
