What is this?
Short answer:
The default texture pack upsized from 16x16 to a 256x256 resolution.
Long answer:
A tool that'll hopefully make everything easier for people who want to make animations like , but don't want to take the time to go through and photoshop everything. I'm doing that for you. All you have to do is download the pack, search through it for the block you want, and put it on your cube in your assorted 3d program.
How can I use this?
Short answer:
You can stick these textures directly onto a block in a 3d modeling program and not have to do any extra work.
Long answer:
Rather than going through some maya wahwah that I don't know about, you can just place these directly into the program without going through the unknown wahwah. I perused Google, textbooks, and self-help sites for about 30 minutes without coming up with anything, so I figured I'd go ahead and do this and spare other people the bother.
What have you already done?
The default terrain.png file has been completely finished, and I've done a few, basic renders. I'm working on mobs now.
Render(s)
I'm currently looking for the texture of the flame effect that appears on torches. If anyone happens to know where that might be located...

To Do
In order of how I plan to complete these: Mobs.
begin upsizing popular textures (painterly, qpack, etc.)
Upsize popular skins (Notch, Mojang team, famous people)
Closer
Since you've bothered to read this far (yaaaay), Maya 2010-2012 is available for free through students.autodesk.com. They ask you to make an account on their website, and that's about it. From there, just download whatever you want, (as long as you're a student) and make whatever. If there's any demand, I could make some basic tutorials, but there are websites for those. Any feedback at all is appreciated. The poll is nice, but posts would be awesome. If this'll encourage anyone to post, I'll model the skins of the first 50 people to, and put them up for download.
I just used with Blender,(it's like maya, but free,) and I would assume it can be used for maya. Just drag it to your object and it will be textured with the selected texture you chose.

...But that's just my opinion.
