Where is the .png for fire?

there isn't one. if you mean on terrain.png it is an un animated one. its the red text next to the saplings but if u want a custom noe you need to make a custom file and its alot of work

I'm aware of the work needed but what file do I actually edit to change the look of burning fire in game?

Never mind I found it, it's the same route as making custom water.
