Do it, perhaps with a few other more generally winter-themed texture variants along with them. While I don't really care much about "decorating" packs for holidays, there's nothing wrong with a few more winter-theme variants, heh.
Also, I finally got a chance to try the latest version in game (I was getting tired of looking at my own incomplete work), and it's quite good, but if I could make another little recommendation, could you create a less distracting "selected item" indicator for the hotbar? The current one, while nice-looking, is a bit distracting and sometimes makes it a little harder to read item numbers at a glance when using the default font.
EDIT2: Also, there's a little zfighting on the large chest model's skin. The only way to fix this, though, would be to make sure that the top two pixels of the chest's bottom part match the bottom two pixels of the chest's lid. meh

Winter themed would be cool. I can do something like frost on the windows and turn all the grass to a snow texture if I fiddle with the shader maybe.
I can definitely add an alternate selector. What are your feelings on custom text, btw? Distracting? It's way down on my list of properties but I'm considering adding it. I've got some callig stored on my computer already.

I don't mind custom fonts as long as they're done well (I recall one of the high res packs, either Misa's or Faithful 32x, had a very pixel-y font that looked quite terrible). If you claim to have some "callig" stored on your computer potentially for use in this pack, you'd probably want to go high-res to keep your lines looking smooth. Also, it might be worth keeping around a standard minecraft style sans-serif font for quick readability, depending on how your other font turns out.

Well, so far the font I have looks like it's not going to work. It'd be a massive pain in the rear to make it into a Minecraft font anyway, I designed it to be larger and it doesn't scale that well. I'd have to completely redo it, I think.
Main pack updated, customizer updated. I've also added some new banners for your signature. I think I'm done texturing for the night, I'm at the point where I can't hold the pen for much longer.
Well, my resolve to work on winter textures or the enderdragon today may have just gone out the window by discovering an awesome website to buy furniture on.
It's really expensive but really cool. I don't see anything I absolutely have to have right now, but maybe if I have some money left over in my furniture budget once I get moved into the new house.
I'm working on the moon right now. Might do particles next.
Sadly, the villagers are still somewhat ugly, but there's not much you can do about this in a texture pack, though. I think their heads are really just too big. However, I'm very surprised with the amount of atmosphere you've added to the villages themselves. It's pretty amazing, actually.
I think the problem with the villagers is that their head and hair is not a separate block. In all the other humanoid models there's a space to the side of the head where another texture can be overlaid, which gives a bit of space between the head and whatever is on their head. It looks a LOT better. I've tried it both ways on my skins and it makes a big difference. I tried it on the villagers and it's not enabled. I'm hoping that's something Notch will change in the future.
Congrats. I am glad to hear things are going well for you. Maybe if I hang around for a bit some of those blessings will rub off on me. I have tried everything else (including prayer).
The new textures look awesome. I need to download the latest version and give it a test run...with the game on mute...
how many downloads per day are you getting? (if you don't mind me asking)

Heh, this is also true. After I discovered this and started using it, every skin that doesn't make use of it for hair just looks completely weird to me. I had actually taken note of this when I was going through a village and looking at the various people around it.
Hmm, idea: mod that allows one to add an additional texture to texture packs so they can add this extra layer to the villagers.

Yay! We're always glad to have you around.
Yep, getting a house. I'm not really nervous but I haven't been sleeping well lately, so my father thinks I'm subconsciously excited or nervous about it. Seems reasonable. I'm dying to know when my closing date will be. I'm seeing the bank on Monday about the loan so hopefully I'll find out then. I'm not too worried about taking on that much debt - I've done the math, I've been saving for years for the downpayment. I've got inheritance money that I'm going to use to replace all the carpeting.
My last attempt to buy a house ended poorly. My boss overheard me on the phone with the realtor and quietly informed me that I wouldn't have a job within the year. About the only decent thing he did... wouldn't do anything about the people saying I shouldn't be working because I have a disability or that women don't belong in IT but he was perfectly fine with trying to get rid of me once he found out I have a medical disorder.
Anyway. It's past-due that I get a house of my own.
I'm getting about 30 downloads per day at minimum, if adfly is accurate. The most in one day was when I got 1.0.0 up and that hit almost 250. It's a bit surprising each time I check the numbers. Like, really? This many people want this pack? Makes me feel good.

I read somewhere on the Minecraft wiki that there is an option for a hood but it has not been enabled with the latest release. If it gets enabled in the future, it'll be pretty simple to move the hair over to the side to give their heads some depth. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I have no idea how a mod like that would work. I know java, but I really don't feel like doing that much work to get up to speed on how to mod the game. I did have a mob I added a while back that would home in on the player but I never did anything with it. Modding is not for me, I think.

Curse Premium....it appears no matter what I do with shading, my only choice for sun is generic white blob.

Curse PremiumThat's my contribution to the Minecraft community. Thistle Pack: eliminating obnoxious noses since 2011. Sweet signature, btw, if I do say so myself.
