Oh wow! THis is fantastic. One thing though, I'm not sure the mountain biome grass colour really tiles well with any other biome colour.
It ties in with the tundra and taiga biome colours, as they are basically the same. It's quite dramatic, yes, but it's meant to be that way. SM3 is like that. Thanks for your comment!
There's now a relatively stable test release for 1.6, which has been converted into a resource pack. There's also some additional textures added in this release, but no 1.6 specific textures yet. Thanks to resource packs though, these should just show up as default textures.
Not as yet. I'm still working on all the default textures right now, but this is something I may consider in the future. Thanks for your interest!
