I've always liked how cel-shaded games look such as Borderlands, Cel Damage, Crackdown and many others. So I've tried to make Minecraft look like that as much as I could with this texture pack. Here are a few screen-shots that the forums seem to like so much:
I hope you like it! This texture pack is still a work in progress so there'll probably be some problems with it. If you do find any problems please tell me.
Also, since I'm not good at doing things I can't change the texture of fire without some help, if anyone knows a (not too hard) way to do this please tell me, or provide the files so I can change them (or take a shot at changing them yourself.
Please leave some feedback, good or bad, but try not to be too mean.
Cool texture pack - makes the whole game look so much more interesting!! Keep it up! Here's a diamond for u
Why thank you! I wasn't expecting such a nice reply, I was more prepared for "f4il wtf ths pak sux get a life" Keep your diamond, you deserve it more than I do.
WOW is probably the first thing that comes to mind when you first load up this Texture Pack. This is exactly what I was looking for. Keep up the good Work!!
This isn't really cel-shaded, just kinda outlined in black...
That said, I happen to like the look. I might download if you can get everything looking that way (blocks, mostly).
Well, I can really only do blocks that have transparency in them, so I probably won't be doing any more blocks, but there's still a bunch of items I haven't done yet. And I can't exactly
cel-shade it because that would require a changing the code, but this seems to be the closest I can get.

Well, Sphax's Pure BDCraft is a celshaded pack, in my opinion. You could try your own spin on that style to actually get as close as you can with Minecraft's rendering engine.

But then the textures wouldn't be very default...
Sphax's isn't cell shaded, it's vector.
Maybe try first vectoring, then cell shading. It doesn't look that great with the dirty look of default. A good dirty cell look would be like Borderlands, but it's still very smooth.

Is that an affect in Photoshop? I use Paint.net because it's free and I'm broke. But no I did not.

The Borderlands look is kinda what I was going for, and please do try it sometime, it's definitely worth your time!
