I have recently started to develop my own Texture Pack. I got all the files from the minecraft.jar file located in the
\Application Data\.minecraft\bin folder and I went ahead and made some small changes here and there (including the background.png file) and once I had finished that I went ahead and zipped it up through WinRAR.
Now here is where the issue comes in...
Every single Texture Pack I have or have tried using in the past (but 1) have all failed and don't work. The only one that ever worked out of the whole 3 I downloaded/made. Now, I don't seem to be able to find the problem. All I know is that if it doesn't work, the image for the TP has been Black & White even if the pack.png file was color (and it stayed the default image even if it wasn't)
Right before I went to make this post however, I remembered that when I was having the issue of minecraft freezing on the Mojang logo/title screen, I had deleted the .minecraft and minecraft itself from my computer and re-installed it. So I tried to use MCPatcher to patch the Texture Packs and what not. I even re-zipped the 2 texture packs (mine and the Autumn Qunadry) I currently have. Yet it still will not work.
what resolution? Sure it's a .zip file? Used working high-res texture packs before >> problems then?
Well the res for the texture pack I made is 16x16, and it seems that the Autumn Quandry pack is the same (at least I downloaded it through the link provided on the TexturePack/Mods/Maps topic post thing under the 16x16 packs). So I didn't seem to think I would have to much of a problem there. As for the .zip file, Yes, I have quadrople checked it...about 7 times.
Something I would suggest doing to see if it's a problem with the zip is to download another texturepack and wipe out their zip file and stick your stuff in it. Short of that, it doesn't hurt to have someone else check for you to make sure everything's where it needs to be.

True. I was going to try it with the Autumn Texture Pack but it didn't work after I re-downloaded it. Ill let you know if that works or not.
Thank you for reminding me of that. Works perfect now. Not sure what was wrong before. All my files are the exact same. But whatever, It works perfect now and that is all that matters to me. Thanks again.

Anyone able to help me out with this?

Never used a high-res texture pack.
