ummm yea i am using brown and bloom texture pack. and my bricks r made of flames and portals? can anyone explain?

That just doesn't happen. MCPatcher can cause crashes with mods installed, but it's extremely unlikely to just cease to function like this.
It's definitely, as has been said, a problem with the patcher. Just patch the game again.
