This texture pack is AMAZING. One complaint, I don't like the look of the swords. They just look weird :/
Yeah the tools and swords I did a year ago, and they were one of the first things I did, but Yah I know what you mean they need some love, I've been slowly reworking items I hate, the saddle is one of the things that will come first it was just a placeholder and I never really had a saddle in survival so I didn't care much but now it's bugging me, like the old meats were.
this pack is awesome. i remember when i was looking for a HD version of minecraft mods/texture pack. i found that i had to settle for LB Photo... which is also a great texture pack, i like it. but i always wanted one that just enhanced the current minecraft textures. the wiki was my only guide to mods and texture packs for a few mounths until i sighned up with curse to post stuff. i'm glad this pack exists. i wish it was easier to find tho.
Here is a new Screenshot Of what I worked on today I recoded the menu to remove the blurring effect and increased the resolution to improve the title screen! This will be a new feature of minecraft enhanced mod, and I'm going to code it to alternate between 3-4 different backgrounds so when your game loads it's not so bleh.
And yes it's the normal moving skybox just better.
It looks beautiful in motion :smile.gif: I think I'm going to do the alternates as snow/swamp/desert/Mushroom forest Really you could do anything and have it change but I don't wanna get carried away as the textures are pretty huge to get that quality.
If someone had a badass map seed or a cool enviroment/city/building that would look cool and would be willing to share that map I would also consider using those. The skyboxes are kinda time consuming to make and get right so it would have to be something good.
I considered doing a "movie" background where you could have it do a "flyover" or a minelapse but again that would be just way way to big it would be badass though I bet.

You could always make the shaders yourself, i would make them but i suck at making them. Does anyone mind making shaders for this texture pack to work with the glsl shaders? I rember when this texture pack had shaders it was sexy
I'm currently attempting to make shader maps (curretly for 128×. If it works well, I will try 256×... 256× plus shaders will have very low fps, considering I want to use far+fancy.)
If they work nice, I'll ask cferril1 the permission to upload them :smile.gif:
I wish you luck and i hope cferril1 will allow you to upload it, this is the only texture pack i use and plan on using forever, shaders on it would make my gameplay much more amusing
Just giving you guys some info. I wasn't aware that the GLSL shader mod was offically updated, I thought that mod was long dead. I was one of the original supporters of it, and actually even fixed the code bug with bump mapping using 256x sets.
Now that it is actually updated and I have a better graphics card I'll look into finishing the normal maps, I was halfway done with them anyway, I'll have to dig them out and see what I need to finish.
I would ask that you please do not release any unofficial ones, I have the source files all stored in layers so I'll be able to make them much more accurate than you can achieve using the base texture.
Just keep an eye out I'll post them in the next 2-3 days probably I'll obviously need to test them first.

Sweet, i'll be checking this topic everyday.

I luckily had the version from 1.3 alpha on a jump drive, thought I had lost it when my HD crashed a few months back.
I updated the specular maps for the pack, the normal maps are the same ones that I had done before about 20-25 blocks give or take. Most of the building materials are there.
I've included a link on the first page, I just don't think i'm going to bother finishing it though, played around with mod tonite....
And despite all my hopes of it actually being non buggy it was still the same old buggy thing from 8 months ago... the shiny walls in a dark underground cave just completely ruins it... which is why misa and I stopped working on it.
IF he decides to actually fix this horrible bug that makes it imo broken, I may consider finishing the normal maps, but for now this will at least give you a taste of what it COULD be.
But dax claimed it would literally take him rewriting the lighting engine so my money is on it will never be right, but who knows only time will tell.
For now please do not bug be about getting these working, quite frankly I don't think they are really even worth the effort for a non "power-user" the performance impact is just too great and compatibility seems to be even worse than before for ati users from what I can see. Any questions you have would be answered on the DAX wiki, or in his thread, as I only supply the textures.
I think bang for your buck I would much rather have the double view mod, it does more for the player.
Don't take this post the wrong way, I think what dax has done is amazing, but it's just not my cup of tea because I have OCD, and the shinyness bugs the crap outta me. I do however think that the waving grass is super awesome and I highly recommend that.
Also an update on the minecraft enhanced mod, sadly mod options api still hasn't been updated.... so I'm still holding out for it but I may start investigating another GUI mod so I can get the mod going again.

Ya, now i rember why i didn't use it much before cause it' a big pefromance decrease, Only thing i really liked was the bumpmaps but the peformance is bad, I've got 2x 9600 gt's (sli) and it still dosen't have very good peformance.
cferril1: I noticed the sun/moon should be 256×256 (for the 128× pack) and 512×512 (for the 256×) pack (= they are too small for 128×/256×, they still work but they could look better)
Also, could you include the new mob textures from Misa's texture pack (squid/wolves/endermen/etc)?
I typically use lower res textures on things like particles, clouds and the moons to save memory so it runs better. The torch animation is also 128. I try to balance it so more people can use it. The Moon is so far away I really don't feel like it would help all that much. Also usually with the minecraft enhanced mod I apply texture filtering to the moon and clouds so I can get away with using a lower quality and it still look good without the performance hit.
I think I'm tired of waiting for Mod options api to update and I'm just gonna go ahead and look into alternative means of UI options for the mod. I hate to have to redo that part, but most of the mod is going to need a rewrite anyway because of the changes to the renderer in 1.8/1.9
Hey cferrill1, Clintonxa said he will update MOAPI tomorrow Jan. 1. I've been waiting a very long time to use your minecraft enhanced mod. I was never able to use it due to incompatibilities, but nowadays mods don't conflict each other like they used to
