this is my favorite texture pack since i first played MC. and it great that it is update for 1.4 pre-release (which also works with 1.4.2 official). however, I found 3 bugs and i have 1 question:
Question: Why villagers use default texture?
Bugs: 1. Anvils don't have a texture
2. new mobs form snapshots between 1.3 and 1.4 use default texture
3. in Fast graphics, side texture grass is broken (screenshot:)
1. Anvils were added quite recently and they were messing around changing alot of things so I waited till official release to do the update. They are fixed in today's 1.4 release
2. Mobs will be updated as I go, they take A LOT of time to get the way I like.
3. Must have something with the way grass side textures are handled fast/fancy and ctm, that could actually be a MCP/CTM bug there. I'll look into a fix, thanks for the report.
To fix it for now you could just disable the CTM for the dirt/grassside by deleting the terrain 2,3,38 and 68 in the ctm folder of the pack. This will return the pack to the default terrain grass and dirt and this should fix the issue.
SO yah otherwise Enjoy the update I'll update again in like a week to add some more mobs.
I can not seem to get mine to work "correctly". Some of the icons seem bigger in the inventory and dont "fit". Wheat looks different, was it changed or I am seeing the default?
How exactly are you supposed to install this pack? Usually I just put it into the texture pack folder and click it, but this one is not working. I actually got MCPatcher and "installed" it with that as a mod.
I have a fix for the broken grass. Simply delete the terrain38.properties in the ctm folder. Thats it. The green grass tops werent being tiled properly and the tiling was just a copy pasta of the original so there is nothing lost by removing the grass top tiling.
I like this texture pack. I use 128x edition with optifine.
However, the grass side textures are weired. Many of grass blocks' side is just brown dirt with black grass outline but no green grass.
I copied the green top part of grass side texture (tile 3) from terrain.png and overwrite top part of grass side textures in ctm.png (tiles 88-91 104-107 120-123 136-139). It now looks better.
edit: It looks better -- but only in some biome.
The grass side I copied does not change color with biome. I will try again with different source tile.
edit: Now I know that I just have to replace them with transparent, all the top part of grass side is now the same color with the top side.

Also, to get connected textures working again for sandstone, glass and bookshelves, I have whipped up the properties file that are needed. You can download them here: http://www.mediafire...3sxyi9a9bb32ncx
Simply paste these properties file in with the others in the ctm folder.
As much as I really like this pack is there any way to get a version with the previous wood textures with the narrower boards? I just can't get used to the wider look. If it's not possible I may just have to try and hack together my own pack.

I myself still am torn between the old wood and the new wood that is more like vanilla. The old wood was more accurate to a real plank siding/floor, 4-6inches wide planks when scaled irl, minecraft blocks are 1m cubes leaving the defualt planks to be about 8-9 inches wide which seems absurd for a wood panel.
That's the problem with doing a faithful pack, it very much limits what you can do without things looking drastically different from defualt.
But to respond to your actual question, I have no intentions of releasing different verisons of the pack, that would quickly lead to other people wanting something else different. I will include an alternates image soon, as long as you open the image in a program that supports transparency it would be super easy to switch in what you like.
If I were to release a different pack version, it would be a completely different theme, sci fi.
Also just to let people know, I've been working alot but I am still working on the pack, the new version I have fixed some of the reported issues such as grass side transparency with fast mode. I also fixed fire compatibility for optifine.
I will probably not be updating until they add something significant, as of now as far as I know the pack still works for the latest version, and snapshot.

Have a nice holiday!
Actually, it's missing enchanted books, fireworks, firework stars, and firework particles. Not complaining as I've added them in my own mixed texture pack, but though I'd let you know
This pack by merely existing has increased my productivity at work back up to almost where it was before I discovered minecraft. No longer to I idly search to texture pack forum.
For vanilla minecraft I don't want anything fancy just nicer minecraft with cute sheep (ahem). I really cant find another pack that doesn't have something I am not quite happy with.
I mean random mobs is great but invisible glass sucks, medieval brick looks cool bit ore blocks with just one massive chunk of ore are bleh etc etc....
Thanks so much for making and maintaining this texture pack which is bright clear simple cheery and above all...minecrafty!
a lower render distance.

Hope this gets fixed in the actual release.

Happy Holidays to you as well.
Enjoy the holidays, make sure as always you get the latest MCpatcher or optifine when you play.

have a great xmass (back to work
I'm using 128x. Also using Optifine, so feel free to tell me to bug off.
Just wondering, if this is something everyone gets with this texture pack, is it something that can be resolved?
Looks like the old 3d items render bug is back, that is an optifine bug just use mcpatcher until it's fixed or play on fast mode to turn off 3d items.
