Okay... So I'm a noob. There are at least 3 different MCPatcher programs floating around out there. The one that finally worked for me was the one I found at the following URL:
Why are noobs so stupid!? Use the mcpatcher at the top of the texturepack page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even when I was a noob I knew that I had to use the patcher!
Honestly... I'm a noob at texture packs. This is the first time I've tried to make it work. Perhaps I can provide some insight as to why so many people have problems.
I came to this site because this thread was referenced on another site that highlighted texture packs. In the first post of this thread, there are links to download the texture pack and a reference to use mcpatcher. So I simply googled mcpatcher and picked the most obvious link. I came across at least 2 other mcpatcher programs that appeared to work but did not work with this theme.
I never made it to the main "texture packs" page on this forum. Perhaps a link to that main topic about MCPatcher would have been good to have in the first post that references the downloads?
Since these features are not officially supported by the game developer, it's very confusing trying to figure out how to make this all work, for someone who has never used texture packs before. And I am a Computer Software Engineer... Imagine what the average user feels like...
If the texture packs and MCPatcher were more formally supported by the game manufacturer (i.e. installed with the application), perhaps this wouldn't be so confusing...
I love how I change just the tools and weapons... that people have complained about for over a year, and now it's "watered down"..... when that is literally the only thing besides cobble that changed from the last version....
This theme rocks dude! Honestly, if I think about an updated, HD version of Minecraft, this would have to be the default theme. It's like everything the original game is, only fancier and more pleasant to look at. Plain and simple.
Than you so much for all the work you put into this!
Now... Go make some money on this and find a way to get this into a DLC add-on for the XBOX version! I would buy that in an instant!
Is there any reason why the backgrounds for Inventory/Furnace/Crafting, is transparent? It's making things a little difficult to see for items which are dark...

This is something I'm going to change in the next version, I'm going to get rid of the transparency it's something I liked for awhile but now I realize it really doesn't fit the vanilla feel. So Yah UI fixes and cobblestone fixes in the next version as well as the new stuff I'm waiting for the next snapshot with emeralds.

Excellent! As long as it's not an issue with my setup, I'm cool with that. I guess it depends on your typical habits for surfaces near/around where you normally keep your chests. Transparency is indeed cool, in cases where it work well. Obviously in my case, it's not working out as well due to my darker backgrounds...

I'm excited for the new cobblestone texture, is it going to be like your personal remake of the cobblestone texture introduced back in 1.7? I sorta get that feeling when I look at the current cobblestone texture so I'm curious.

Nice texture pack! I've used this since the 1.2 update and have really liked it! I just have a few suggestions though. First of all, I would recommend changing the cobblestone back to the way it looked before. The new cobblestone looks a little weird to me. Second of all, the font looks kind of grainy to me, and could be a bit better. Otherwise amazing pack!
Actually, it'd be better to use Optifine with it, though MCPatcher would fix it.
Norton is retarded. There are no viruses on that site.
Grab the mod Optifine. It'll help out a bit.

Except the texture for Stone seems to be mixed with a few others...
I'm using the 128 version (256 wouldn't even activate)
Is this a problem on my end, or something in the texture pack?

Use mcpatcher
I did.
Okay... So I'm a noob.

It would be nice if there was some sort of "official" place for all of this stuff.

Just my 2 cents worth...
