Yes, I am planning on releasing an update for 1.3.
I have to leave for around five weeks some time next week, so I probably won't have time for the full revamp but it should still be much better
@Seradicus:
I understand if you don't like the graininess. My original planks were smooth (though somewhat blurry) for the same reason, but ultimately I think these look much better. As for the spaces in between, I need my pack to be consistent. If I lightened or eliminated those spaces, then the planks would be a jarring disconnect from stone bricks or cobble. They make the pack more cohesive.
DM: Thanks for replying and updating about the update! I'm looking forward to it. Any plans for the customizer? because i think it would make Seradicus and others happy.
Seradicus: I sorta see what you mean, i guess I just don't mind it as much ^.^
Also... does anyone else think they see a monster through the far right window of the latest screenshot?

It's not that they aren't smooth, I enjoy that fact. It's just something about how they were detailed. Apparently it's just me, though.
As for the style part, I think you could make them fit better with some lightened lines.
Lookin' good. The smooth sandstone is especially nice, I think I know what all my floors are going to be made out of now.
Personally I think the booster track might look better if the gold/redstone parts covered more of it, so that contiguous sections of booster track would blend together more nicely.
Hello, I'm in mid progress of creating a texture pack using textures from the game FusionFall, however there was a lack of definitive wool design-like texture, and I was wondering it I could overlay the wool design featured in the "classic DMpack" over the my wool to enhance the texture a bit. This wouldn't completely copy the texture and wouldn't directly reflect upon your textures, it would just be a "hint" of the design on my wool. I think it looks nicely as I've overlayed it and I would hate to change it. I just feel an obligation of getting your consent prior to release of my "FusionCraft" texture pack which is set to release in a few weeks.
Wow this is my favorite pack of all time!
Just a thought though, imo on the corners of the track you should have two planks instead of one i think that could possibly look much better

So the pack didn't quite have a complete overhaul- some blocks must stay the same for now, as well as many of the items, as I'm not going to have access to my computer that I texture with for the next five weeks or so. That said, I'll still follow the thread, pay attention to feedback, etc. etc.
But please, I would greatly appreciate some screenshots of the new version so I may update the screenshots section.
Hi Dm! I don't have much in the way of impressive stuff right now because I'm playing in hardcore, but I thought I could share a little.
This is my two hardcore homes from a distance so you get the setting. I think it's pretty
These are the homes closer up:
My garden:
And Inside the house:
Here is my mine:
I love the way the textures in this new update work together.
The cutest, funniest smelting room ever! I love the mouth details. Om nom nom iron!
The chests make my terribly crude storage room look presentable enough to post online
Here are my actual mines:
And here is a cavern I found. Thought the shadows, ore, and lava were pretty. I was too scared to go down though since I'm in hardcore mode.
Out of the mines, here is my winter hardcore house (made it while I was looking for sheep)
I only found pigs ^.^ Here's the inside!
I also generated a random world for you and built a little bridge:
I hope this helps! I'm so proud that I'm the first one to get to show off this update, although I'm sorry my builds are so simple. Can't wait to see some more impressive screens! Come on guys! Thank you so much for getting this update out DM. Hope this is enough. Cheers!
EDIT: I should point out that I have not patched with the MC patcher as of yet, so all of the items I'm holding are messed up. That is not the fault of the pack, just the fact that I'm lazy. DM has PMed me and asked me to redo these screens so they will be updated sometime tomorrow (It's late here). Thanks!
Downloaded, I'll write what I think about it soon if ya want.
A cobble alt would be great for SMP players too. The terrain looks great!
I don't see why not
And by cobble, do you mean something that isn't bricklike? I've always preferred bricklike cobble, and I can't make anything new for a few weeks, but noted anyway.
I think the new textures look great. The common overworld textures seem more natural than the older ones, which tended to stand out pretty sharply and didn't all seem to flow together well even though they looked nice individually. The new player-manufactured blocks like stonebrick, sandstone, planks and rail tracks all look awesome and make me eager to build things, and the netherbrick gives nether fortresses a rather sinister look. The Emerald block in particular came out beautiful.
One criticism I have is for the soul sand. Though the concept is neat (I can imagine the player being slowed is due to a thousand tiny mouths biting at his feet), it looks too similar to netherrack which breaks the "shores of hell" impression that the vanilla textures give and it looks really weird when it tiles in large amounts (e.g. the way it spawns naturally).
One suggestion: The rune on the front of the sticky piston might be cooler if it were green, possibly with a glowing look to it.
Also, and I'm not trying to say that the new versions aren't superb, but I preferred the look of a few of the old items/blocks. Namely: the diamond block, the sabre-style diamond sword, the bedrock with the skulls (though I'm on the edge about this one because the new one looks really pretty), and well...I still miss those redstone pearls...
Is there any chance of a "classic pack" of the old textures with the 1.3 stuff thrown in so it'll work properly? Those were great textures in their own right and it would be a shame for them to fall into an unusable state. They could be the new "alternative" set like how the previous version had an alt set.
I have to leave for around five weeks some time next week, so I probably won't have time for the full revamp but it should still be much better

I will release the update tomorrow. It's big, and it's snapshot ready.
I've made quite a lot of unposted progress.

those were just nice terrain shots.
and now, for a trip to hell!
thanks. You have really awesome builds, especially for a hardcore!
