So anyway, I figured "Hey, this is awesome. But you know what would be more awesome? If I could play this in VillainCraft." And its not nearly as big a project as Tekkit Lite would have been (which by my somewhat unreliable estimate would have been more work than just texturing for regular Minecraft was). So I'm going to get started on that pretty soon. But don't worry, the primary focus will still be on finishing the core of the pack.
*Note to self: Have the mad science department look into the possibility of eatable computer games.

The old texture pack system will never be back. TBQH I'm happy to see it go. Resource packs are better by far.
If anything resource packs make it EASIER to create texture packs, and expand the amount of customization in game, boycotting it is just silly, and will amount to nothing.
How exactly do they make anything easier? Finding texture packs will be harder, because everything will be all lumped together. Making texture packs will be harder because it will force people to have to code (well known to be an exceedingly difficult process), as if they were making a mod, and in many cases learn to code, which previously had not been an issue. Using texture packs will be harder, because you have to modify the game's files to change it, and then changing it back runs the risk of corrupting your save because you've just removed a mod.
What, exactly, does it make easier? And is it really enough to make up for all the things that are made more difficult? Just because you can cut more things with a chainsaw than with a butter knife doesn't mean that the chainsaw isn't cripplingly ill-suited for the butter knife's intended purpose.

Finding texture packs wont be hard, because the forums will still be set up the way they are, or at worst require you to add tags stating what the pack consists of.
Resource packs require ZERO coding knowledge
Resource packs change ZERO game reliant code, meaning they can be switched between just like texture packs are now.
Please do some research into what updates actually mean before flying off the handle. every problem you have listed so far is your (incorrect) speculation.
Totally reasonable reaction to change... not based on biased misinformation what so ever. Congrats, even if you do come back, you single handed ruined your texture packs reputation. :/
This. "Resources", in java (and most programming) are the "non-code" bits. Basically, these "evil resource packs" are just Texture Packs that allow you to edit more resources, like sounds, txt files (Credits/splash messages), etc. They have no code in them.
Also, the people you are screwing over are your fans. No one else.
I've done my research. While I cannot entirely rule out your assessment of the situation, it does not appear to be the case.
I tell you what. I'll test it in person when it comes out. If you're right, you have my apologies and I will drop the boycott. Otherwise...

No, it was already there. Its just I only recently learned that MightyPork had transferred ownership of the mod to Eydamos, so I adjusted the listing accordingly. As soon as the mod updates, I'm probably going to make some changes to my textures for it.
I really need to check on these things more often.
