When testing my texture pack in game, I noticed that there was no animation for the water. I just stood there (unless it was flowing downhill). Is it necessary to animate it myself? BTW, I use Paint.NET.
No, you need to make it from scratch, you won't find the actual water anim in the .jar file. Look at a high-def pack (like my own), there's a file where each 64x64 frame is arranged in a line, and that's the water animation.
it's about the same as this tutorial.. but I suggest gimp, and the plugins offered in the tut. don't confine yourself to one program, they all have different strengths. gimp's is animation imo.
@Frossa: I have never had any training, have no degree, and am not a professional... but I figured out how to install and run plugins that make animating water and lava very, very simple. :tongue.gif:
