First off, have a goal. It's best to think of what you think minecraft should look like.
Try to stay away from simple texture packs, as most of them are just people that make everything a solid color, and put up a slightly darker border and call it a day.
We are a group of texturers, that delve in making packs, skins, as well as helping out newbies with texture creating.
