What is the default sized PNG? Like is it 8x8, 16x16, 32x32, ect.. lol I know that may be a dumb question but I really don't know. I've made an 8x8, 16x16, and 32x32 with no luck of the texture pack chaining in game. WTF am I doing wrong? Mark on the PNG then save then send to Zip then move Zip to texturepack folder in appdata and that should be it right?
This is awesome. I've been toying with the idea of trying to make my own texture pack for a long time, but I was always intimidated by the size of the project and didn't have a clue where to start. With this, I'm actually brave enough to give it a shot!
Thank you.

If you only changed the terrain.png, all you gotta do is this: edit everything you want, then press ctrl + alt + s (if you're on photoshop...) select .png and name your file as terrain.png
After this, you select the terrain.png and zip it up with any zipping program like Winrar and 7-zip (links to download is on the post). Then you take the zip and pass it to your texturepack folder on .minecraft (at appdata). Remember: only ONE terrain.png per zip, understand? If you want to modify other files, like itens.png, you just have to do the same thing and maintain the same folder estructure as the texture pack templates, got it?
yea, i cant afford PS, i thought most pack artists just used gimp and/or paint.net but im sure alot of people lose this template pack.
but i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get a true template for the new chest.pngs' in the item folder, ive been looking all day, how do you people figure this crap out so fast!?!?! lol
I'm almost done with everything... but I'm still trying to understand how some mobs work, and I'm giving a break while 1.9 isn't out oficially.
just letting you know, there isn't going to be a 1.9, there waiting until the real release. there just gunna keep giving us pre-releases until november
Thank you.

LOL, sorry. English is my second language, and I don't pay attention to what I write everytime...
By the way, I'll update everything after 1.9 is out oficially.
Mediafire accepts zip files...

I too have been unable to open the templates with Gimp. It gives me an error message that goes like this:
Oh, I found the problem. I forgot to extract the contents of the .rar file. :tongue.gif:

Curse PremiumBtw, WinRar isn't for Mac OS X, so advertise BetterZip or something for an extraction tool =3
