I think what it needs is an uneasy, broken down look. Imagine this: It's been stuck in the Nether for a while, being shot at and crumbled down into a very bad state. It's the weakest material you can find in the Nether, and the only thing that's stayed the same about it over all these times is the blood stains that pour into the cracks on it's surface.

Hm... I tried that backstory thing you did with the netherrack. And decided I'd put smudges or footprints in it. Still keeping the frowny faces, of course.

Nice, they have a creepy effect to them...mind doing another glowing item (glowstone)? You can make two versions if you need (fancy and city like, or organic and hellish). Also, I spy new planks!

Nice to know I succeeded in making the pumpkins creepy. :3
I'm making two versions of the glowstone, yes. :smile.gif:
What is your secret to making such beautiful textures, may I ask? :3
Hm... Idk.
What I usually do is fill the entire block with one color, then I use a darker color to make outlines/designs, THEN I get a color that's lighter than the outline, but darker than the original, I shade with that. I get a color that's lighter than the original, and shade with the light one. I also shade with transparent colors. And sometimes I add noise after that.
.....
I'm not good at explaining things. :3

I understood, don't worry. I sort of do the same thing (Except noise, it makes it look weird on a 16x texture. :tongue.gif:).
Maybe I will try to make a 32x pack eventually. :tongue.gif:

Good eye, there are indeed new planks. :3
Which version will you show first, Fancy or Hellish?
Hellish. :wink.gif:
I need to add a few cracks/dents in it later, but there's the first version.
I agree that it needs a few cracks in it, but it's still very good.

I'm making a texture pack: (16x) Silent Night
