I've been thinking about making a texture pack. I've tried several times with Paint but it hasn't worked very well.
1) It doesn't look very well. (If you could give me some tips I would be very thankful)
2) There are white boxes around torches and other items
If you could help me resolve those issues I would be very thankful, and when I finally finish the pack it'll be all thanks to you!
Also, to anyone that feels the need to flame this person for not posting it in the right section, a moderator moved it here, so don't flame them, as a mod thinks it belongs here...

Thanks. I'll look into it. Do you have any tips about making a texture pack itself?
A smooth/clean/simple pack is a pack where, in essence, very little effort is put into the pack. Most of them are made up of solid colors and occasionally the creators go as far as to but a border around said solid colors. If you want to read some good tutorials I have started a thread that is devoted to cataloging all the good tutorials that I can find (and are suggested to me). The name of this thread is the Texture Pack University and you can find the URL in my signature above the banners.
