ok so everyday i check the texture pack section (yes i know the admins made the naming system that way, and also this may be wrong section but) and all i really see are a bunch of numbers and you can barely notice the name? there should be a neater naming system, like instead of (16x16 32x32 64x64 128x128) example, it should be something simple like maybe,
(16x!6 - 128x128) Example
just and idea
EDIT: this is an example of one of the names
[64x, 128x, 256x][1.7.3] The Attendee's HD Texture Upgrades ..;--64x Added Aug 2nd--;.. kinda long right
If you mean instead of 16x16 and 32x32 and 64x64, its the creators desicion if he wants it long or short. but its better to have it like its now so it has details of the various versions. lets say he made a 16 and a 64. he cant do 16-64.
ok look it doesnt matter, screw this post delete it or sumthing, what i was trying to say is that the texture packs have really long names and you cant really tell them apart, and with all the numbers it just looks like a giant jumble of numbers

The numbers are there to let people know the resolutions your pack comes in and to what update of minecraft it is currently working on.
It is in a perfectly fine format, usually when someone comes looking for a texture pack they already know the resolution they want so the first thing they should be looking for is that which is why it is at the beginning of the title and how it is.
Lastly they put the version of minecraft it is updated for mainly because all texture packs on here are updated to the newest version of minecraft so it is not important info but important enough.
Lol you are so dumb. If I were to say 8x-264x, that would mean that any value between that could be possible, or, it can also mean that one of the resolutions are not available, which is ambiguous as hell.
If I make 16x and 256x only, making tags [16x-254x] would make me a retard.
Besides, its not that long at all, unless people decide to add dumb things to the title when they can find shorter variations of the same meaning.
[64x, 128x, 256x][1.7.3] The Attendee's HD Texture Upgrades ..;--64x Added Aug 2nd--;..
Technically that only thing I could cut out of that is the update date, which would then cause confusion. I understand that the numbers seem overwhelming but there isn't much that can be done without violating the forums rules, I suppose that since all common resolutions are powers of two you could write them something like [2^4x-2^9] but that may just confuse the hell out of people.

Stop whining.
The title system is fine.
What part of this:
Do you not understand?
That is probably what you would call "a giant jumble of numbers where you can't see the name", while it is obviously clear, you see all the available resolutions, the version compatibility, the name, the last time it's updated etc.
oh my god, dude if you would actual read the post, you would know what im complaining about
He hasn't failed to object your idea by being offtopic. Simply, hes stated that there is no need for your crappy idea. You are just making things more complicated.

i have a better idea, write the name of the texture pack, then in the little description underneath the title put in 16x16 or whatever

Yes really, people need more common sense.
Its obviously fine the way it is, anything like this:
Just makes life harder.
No reason to make a big deal out of nothing.
