Hi, I recently downloaded the Dokucraft texture pack for my game. I got it working fine, but I wanted a smoother smooth-stone. I edited the Terrain.png with GIMP and saved it and renamed the folder it was in. I then zipped it I loaded minecraft and I can see my custom pack in the texture pack menu. The pack's image is the black&white default image and when I load it, the textures remain default minecraft. I can load the original and other texture packs just fine but this one always remains with the default minecraft textures.

I think that when I am zipping the file I am doing it wrong. I have tried simply renaming the file with a .zip extension, that didn't even show in the texture pack menu. Using the Compress "<file name>" option in the "right click" menu is what I have used most and is what gets it to the point of being loadable in the texture pack menu in minecraft, but it only gives the default textures.

To clarify, when I say "default textures" I mean the textures that come with minecraft without editing at all. Not the default Dokucraft High textures before I edited them.

Also, I realized that this may be the wrong section, if so I am sorry.

Try opening the texture pack, selecting all the folders inside of it, and then zip them up. Or make a new zip file and copy them in.

select the files in your texture pack folder and zip that.

so the file structure in the zip appears as such:

texture_pack.zip
+armor
+environment
+gui
+mob
terrain.png
pack.png
particles.png

Okay, I see now. My smooth-stone is far too smooth though, gonna have to fix that...
