I think my texturing skills need a boost so I started this thread because I saw some other people doing it. The request can be anything in a texture pack folder.

Hmm. Actually, that looks kinda bad. Theres a lot of noticeable repeating in the textures and it doesn't look like wood at all, it just looks like a lot of lines in random directions in the color of wood.
Just a question, what program do you use?

As for your wood texture, it doesn't look really good but far from bad. I don't really know what needs to change, maybe just a revision/second look.
