I am currently making a texture pack, and I really don't want to mess with a the MCpatcher stuff, because there's a lot of spriting one of them. However, I can't seem to change anything about the Lava or the Water, in spite of changing the Terrain.png file. as this obviously isn't where the graphics are pulled from, where should I be looking? I have Photoshop, so that's alright, but I don't know where to be looking for the water/lava files. Thank you for any help you can give!!

To be honest, I really don't care if you don't like what I said. I don't speak Idiot or Stupid. After all, they didn't come with the racial template.
What resolution are you doing? That will determine if you have to use mcpatcher or not.
There are two ways to edit water, fire, and lava. One is via the terrain.png. Sadly this typically puts a boring static pictures in place of something that should be moving. The other way is with custom animations. The custom animations are what requires the MCpatcher. That and if you are doing a resolution other than 16x. If you have edited the terrain.png and are not seeing results but everything else is normal I am going to assume that you are doing a 16x pack. If that is the case then...I have no idea. Make sure that the terrain file in the .zip is correct. If it is then I would honestly try forcing a minecraft update. If you have any mods installed this may be conflicting. Though I have never heard of that before.
on a side note the UTD art shop banner sure has spread quickly. I hope I can keep up with the requests. :biggrin.gif:

well, I'm working in 16x16. Also, I don't have interwebs at home. I come to the library for interweb. Sigh... I just want to change my dang lava and water...
Still, thank you for the help. I'll try MCpatcher, and see if it works. Thank you!

I didn't see it there. Do you have a full GUI set I can snag? I got mine from the Texturekit, and it's old and incomplete.
