Thank you. The side of the logs are actually photos of tree bark scaled down and adjusted for tiling and are one of the first thing I designed, maybe I should try something better. If you mean they look too flat (i.e. not rounded), I plan to include rounded alternates whenever I upload this to Minecraft Customizer.
I didn't change anything in the water, I'm not sure what happened here. BTW water color will change for anyone using Spout since it uses the watercolor.png graph to change the color depending on the biome; sooner or later I'll modify it.
Don't worry, I'm still working on it. Currently I have a lot of things half finished i.e. not yet publishable, I'm not sure when the next update will be out and what it will be about.
Added new 12w03a Snapshot textures: jungle tree's bark and leaves.
Added Dragon Egg.
Support to custom biome water colors.
Minor tweaks including better crops and melon stem.
Now Pixel Reality supports both standard water color and biome-dependant water colors in one single pack. Yeah, it's magic! If you want to see the biome water colors you need Spoutcraft (or other mods), but you will still see the normal color if you don't mod the game (you still need a mod to see the custom water animations).
Regarding the new Jungle biome colors I'm not responsible for the ultra-bright green of the foliage: the game seemingly picks the same colors of the Swamp biome but with no dark overlay, there's nothing I can do to change jungle's colors without messing up with swamps' ones. It doesn't look too bad though, real jungles tend to be quite green in RL.
I hope you like the new trees, praises and criticisms (and donations...) are welcome as usual!
Added Jungle Tree Sapling, Nether Warts, Redstone Lamps, Iron Golem, Ocelot, new stone/sandstone blocks.
Better biome colors (now jungles, rivers and ocean islands get their own colors).
Many tweaks including smoother and darker Jungle Tree leaves, bushes changed into ferns, darker saplings, better chicken shading, brighter sun, moon starts from full moon phase.
For unknown reasons water biome colors don't work anymore under Spoutcraft (FFFUUUUU!!!). I left the graph in the pack anyway, maybe you'll be luckier with another client mod.
Regarding Iron Golems design I was inspired by paleolithic art, I hope you like it.
If you're looking for inspiration for your items.png, I'm currently using the ones from Aardvark textures with your pack, I think they work really well. They look neat without being too fancy.
Actually I started making items a long time ago but I won't post it until they're fully finished, they will be the core of 1.5 update. Let me say tools are gonna look awesome.
Added new wood planks and carved sandstone blocks.
Completely reworked biome colors, now they work better with mods enhancing smooth/complex transitions (tested on Spoutcraft). Water colors work again with MCpatcher etc.
Better shading of many mobs, mainly Cow, Blaze, Mooshroom. Undeads now look a little more scary.
Removed raindrop particles, they look to much like hailstones to me. BTW it's quite difficult to see raindrops bouncing on the ground in real life...
Low-res Sun and Moon are now default for consistency. Alternate hi-res versions are included for whoever wishes to use them.
Bricks block is again red with white lines for consistency, I'll keep the other version for the customizer.
Now with a fancy pack's icon!
Since the possibility of posting this pack on Minecraft Customizer is more and more close to happen, I decided to make it as much faithful to the original as possible, keeping my personal interpretations as alternatives; I wish to make this pack "compatible" with the original one, so that changing texture doesn't change what you see, only how good it looks.
This begins now, the first victims are the sun & moon resized to standard resolution (i.e. blocky as ****) and the brick wall. Other block will be restyled as well (just to name a few, the workbench and the dispenser) but don't worry: I'll keep the alternatives for customization (it might take a long while, though...).
I've been looking for a good 16x pack for a while, but none of the ones i found fit my taste. Thanks for this! I'll finally be using a texture pack in minecraft instead of the default one
Added some particles: smoke, torch flame, heart, drops.
Updated many old blocks: side grass on Fast, smoother and lighter double stone slabs that now appear as a single block, darker clay bricks, better TNT shading, nicer metal/gemstone blocks, brighter light on active furnace, better sugar canes (now only 5 per block), new iron door, better shading on pumpkins, redesigned melon stem, more pale organic glowstone, bed cover is now beige, better End Portal, smoother top Sandstone, seamless Cheseled Sandstone, better Wood Planks shading, more light on lighten up Redstone Lamp, and many other things I don't even remember!
Added a new Faithful version!
Wow, that was hard to finish! I changed my mind many times about how Pixel Reality should stay close to the original design of Notch, and my final decision is to split the pack: now Pixel Reality (PR) features my personal interpretation and Pixel Reality Faithful (PRF) is much more similar to the original design while keeping my own graphical style.
That means many blocks have been redesigned, Sun and Moon are hi-res on PR and low-res on PRF and stuff like that, but mobs, items, armors etc. are included in PR only because I don't have enough time to fully support PRF and I wish to give priority to my main project.
About the brand new items: some are missing, some need more work, but there you go. What about boats, chests etc.? It will take some more time.
You will notice that weapons and tools have different style according to their material (isn't that cool?) while armors all look the same; I will design different armors for different materials, I promise, but I didn't make it in time and I just wanted to deliver after the long wait...
Just a quick fix to update the pack with the stuff added in the last snapshot (Villager Zombie, villager interaction sprites and new command block and beacon's top block). I didn't redesign it (just a little recoloring of the zombie villager), this update is just meant to grant compatibility.
I uploaded the pack again because I made a little mistake. Minecraft 1.3.2 and the latest snapshot (12w32a) have a major difference regarding textures: the zombie skin went from 32x64 to 64x64 in order to fit the zombie villager's head so they're not mutually compatible, but 1.3.2 still uses the old skin.
The pack now defaults to the old skin so it's compatible with 1.3.2; if you want to use the latest snapshot(s) just unpack the .zip, open the folder minecraft/mob, delete zombie.png and rename zombie2.png to zombie.png.
