Added a feminine (read: "boobies") skin for Alex? While I was there, I redesigned a muscular Steve? in order to enhance gender diversity.
Added new blocks: Acacia, Birch, Jungle, Spruce and Dark Oak doors, Sponge, Prismarine rough, bricks and dark, Sea Lantern, Red Sandstone normal, smooth and carved.
Added new items: Banner, Armor Stand, Rabbit raw, cooked, stew and hide, Mutton raw and cooked, Prismarine shard and crystals.
Added new mobs: Rabbit and Endermite (sorry, no horses and dragon yet).
Added the End sky and the End Portal effect.
Updated the GUI for Customized world presets and Spectator mode widgets.
Added more random variants for tallgrass which, tanks to Mojang, now work without MCpatcher.
Tweaks
Grass and leaves colors are now more "dynamic" i.e. there's a lot of random subtle color changes depending on biome and height.
Redesigned the rain to make it look more realistic.
Fixed the leaves showing an ugly black background in Fast graphics (they should look like before).
Tweaked the enchantment glint effect to make it look less harsh after the latest changes by Mojang.
Cancelled the random mirroring effect for blocks such as stone, dirt and sand introduced by Mojang because honestly it's a lazy way to do random variations and it messes with my shading (maybe I'll properly design random variations in the future).
Redesigned the potion bottles to add a neat transparency effect.
Many more little tweaks, such as wood planks' color.
I'm having issues uploading pics to CurseForge right now, I'm basically trying every 10 minutes to upload a new pic until I succeed. It might take a while to upload all the new 15 pics...
Creating an Imgur account and posting screenshots is faster, isn't it? Can't wait for the images!
Updating a pack gives me headaches because it takes hours to all the chores needed (I'm working at it since this morning!), so every unnecessary step I can save myself is welcome.
Anyway, you win: here are 3 pics showing some of the new things.
The only thing I don't like about this pack are the oak leaves (they are patterning a bit too much)
That is one of the oldest textures I made and definitely the first that I made thinking out of the box, that's why I'm somewhat shy about changing it.
the Steve skin looks a bit weird (eyes too high, and where's the mouth?)
I started from a real photo to choose where the facial features should be located in order to respect realistic proportions, so maybe you're just too used to the bizarre proportions of vanilla Minecraft. The mouth is the 2 pink pixels in the middle of the beard.
Your pack inspired me to make Odin (my 32x realistic&dark pack).
Now that's flattering. I'm happy I gave you motivation to start your own work (my thanks go to Misa for that).
Are you gonna implement random blocks/CTM/3d models once?
random blocks: I already implemented random tall grass, it's just the beginning.
CTM: very unlikely. Not only it adds an uneccessary (IMO) amount of detail in such a simplistic game, taking it a little too far from vanilla for my taste, it also requires a huge amount of work that could go lost in case something happens to the 3rd party software needed to use it (including game-breaking updates). I'm more confident in working on random blocks now that Mojang supports them natively.
3d models: also very unlikely. My pack is a challenge: I wanted to demonstrate you can get believable graphics with the lowest possible resources (you can also read that as: low-res textures are not an excuse, Mojang) and models would go against that. Also, I don't like how they look; IMO, Mojang themselves are overdoing the graphics a little bit, actually my plan is to undo needless complications whenever possible (for example, notice how my rabbit's ears and bat's wings are flat insted of polygonal). I might consider doing 3d models in case I need to do something I can't do with cubes, but after all these years I don't think it will happen.
From the initial screenshot, I figured: "This bunch appears awesome with shaders", then I read there aren't and that i was just like "OMG HAX!Inch and today I am downloading it those, I will edit this text to share with you my estimation from the bunch
Oh, and about the leaves, you can always make new ones and include the old ones in the Addendum folder.
Yep. My problem right now is that I already designed oak leaves, they're the dark oak ones; I really don't know how I could redesign oak leaves and make them still be obviously different from dark oak leaves, also they're used for swamp trees, jungle bushes and small trees etc., so they're better stay as generic as possible. That means I can't actually change them too much and I have no idea how I could make them look better, also because I didn't really understand what part of oak leaves you don't like.
Are you gonna include the custom sky in Pixel Reality Luminance?
No, Luminance is for light effects only. I was considering creating a new standalone Addendum pack with only environmental graphics (sky, clouds, sun, rain, maybe water and fire) that could be applied on top of vanilla or every other pack, since it's so generic and hi-res enough to work even on HD packs. We'll see.

I've been always using 16x texture packs since i started playing Minecraft; started out with Painterly, later on moved on to Minidoku. I've noticed you commenting on another thread yesterday and decided to try out your pack and i'm so happy that i did; it's one of the nicest 16x packs i found so far and i'm pretty sure that it'll remain my default pack in the future
I particularly like the expirience runes and the fact that the textures look very nice even without using any additional mods at all; thanks and keep up the good work!

Yeah, keeping it compatible with vanilla was a priority because I hate when a pack glitches just because you didsn't install the right mods. A lot of people don't even care about installing mods, actually.
I think the oak leaves and dark oak leaves are patterning too much. Including random rotations (like I did in Odin) or random variants for the leaves could 'fix' that.
What I wonder about is why you only noticed this on oak leaves and not on every other leaf block, because the patterning comes from a technique I use to make leaves look less blocky and generally more believable, especially when used as single blocks; actually jungle leaves and spruce leaves are even worse than that.
I don't do random rotations because it messes with my shading but I'm definitely planning on adding more random variations of natural blocks, as I already did for tall grass; this won't help with patterning because, as I said, it's an unwanted consequence of making leaf not look like boxes, so this issue is gonna stay, sorry. Feel free to add your own leaves to my pack when you play with it ;-)
Are you by any chance browsing on a mobile device? It doesn't show up for me too when I'm browsing on my phone (that's why I added a link below) but I can see it on my laptop, both with Firefox and Opera. For sure the widget doesn't work too well, for example it displays the wrong latest version (should be 1.8.1, it's 1.7.2).
Woah, exploring is fun using your pack with the new biome colors and the cloudy skies!
Could you please make an skybox add-on? (I'm curious how my pack looks with the cloudy skies)
Actually I've been seriously considering releasing a standalone pack with environmental effects only, like I did for PR Luminance, I'm doing some tests before deciding.
I planned to include also snow, rain, water colors and so on but maybe I should only releas sky boxes because they're not tied to a specific texture resolution while particles are; also, most particles are (for unknown reasons, honestly) still packaged as a single file, so I can't change a few of them without overwriting all particles in the underlying pack(s).
Are you planning on including support for other mods as well? I'd love to see support for mods like Railcraft, Forestry & Buildcraft, but I'll leave it to you as to whether or not you are going to support them. Another good one is the BetterStorage mod.
Considering how unstable the modding scene is right now I'm no longer using any mod, also because I'm sick and tired to see them going outdated, therefore I'm not planning more mod support until I fell safer about it. I might consider supporting mods that add a few textures, but something like Underground Biomes was very time consuming and I'm not eager to do all that work again for something that couldn't even survive the next Minecraft update.
BTW I'm working on a secret (not really) project that requires me to design some of the graphics for an upcoming mod. More detail later when I know how this thing works up.
Hmm... What do you mean "not survive" to the next update?
For example, look at Underground Biomes: IIRC it was never updated to 1.7, than someone else did and extended it with new blocks but it still isn't updated to 1.8. Now there's a new mod adding many stone types for 1.8 (Mineralogy), but it only shares a few blocks with UB, so to make PR support it I'd have to design a lot of new textures and a lot of old ones would have no longer an use. Who knows what will happen in 1.9? And that's only one mod. Imagine if I supported more.
I also started designing graphics for EnviroMine, Seasons, ExtraBiomes XL and Biomes o'Plenty, but I couldn't keep up with all the changes both modders and Mojang were making at any update, not to mention most of them still aren't ready for 1.8.
BTW I'm not really ruling out any possibility, we'll see. Also, remember donors are entitled to ask for (a reasonable amount of) custom textures, since 2011 only one person took advantage of that and he got faitfhul-ish ores and an opaque Creeper. Just sayin'.
BTW I'm guessing you are working on Aura Cascade :3
You lose Actually it's Jurassicraft alias Carboniferous mod Jurassic Park edition. I'm doing the trees.
Don't worry, Luigi, we can keep debating this thing forever, I don't mind a little chit-chat. Just to make it clear: maintaining the pack itself has always the priority, then I'm already working on a big mod that also takes priority, then I'm waiting for the modding scene to get "healthy" enough for 1.8 (I seem to understand Forge is out of beta now), then mods I use get the priority, then, maybe, I might consider supporting some popular mod if I have nothing better to do. Add on top of that the fact I can be really lazy sometimes.
It all depends on the height you were at, because hot biomes get greener when they go high enough. They don't look too dark to me but I'll take a look by myself aynway, some pixels on the color map might be out of place. Thanks for the feedback.
The village is around y=70, the plateaus are around y=90 y=100.
I checked and actually it turns out colors don't change with height in Savannas, something I have to fix, but colors are supposed to change both at 70 and 100, that's what should happen in any biome.
I didn't really know what you meant by "too dark" so I searched a Savanna with vanilla textures (which I see only once in a while) and I saw they did acacia foliage of a yellowish color, who knows why.
Instead, I used the actual color of acacia leaves in the African savanna:
As you can see, it's a not too pale green-gray, not that mustard yellow Mojang chose.

Curse PremiumDoesn't the link in the widget work? I mean the one saying "view all 14 downloads"
BTW here is the link for version 1.7.10: http://minecraft.curseforge.com/texture-packs/51623-pixel-reality/files/2211103/download
Of course it doesn't include the new stuff I added for 1.8.2.
