Thank you very much for helping me out, everytime you download my texture pack, you give me money, which i can use for things for my youtube account, and i'm trying to get a Turtle Beach Headset, and a new Skateboard. The more you DL, The more giveaways i'll do on Youtube.
Not to sound like a jerk but this is no where near realism
"I've made a texture pack for myself, which i enjoy very much, so i decided to share it to others, the original name is BarrenRealism, because it is more realistic than the original, and i added shading, different lighting, and it's overall very high quality.
I've worked on this for multiple weeks, and if you look at the description, it's constantly updated, so it's not exactly the finished product.
Thank you for viewing though, and if you do decide to use it, thanks also.
You've got to stop bumping your thread without due cause. It's against the rules, you know. Besides that, this is actually NOT more realistic than the default textures. If anything, it's far less realistic, less detailed, and on the whole not very good. Just having it in a higher resolution does not automatically make it more realistic or more detailed. Ease up the blur, and ease up on the gradient shading.
Hell, your textures leak into one another. You need to use a finer brush, and with much less feather. You can't make a decent texture by scribbling one colour over another and calling it done. First off, each texture is restricted to a square. You NEED to stick to that square. Anything going over the edges should be trimmed. Secondly, learn the basic principles of drawing, lighting and shading. Without that, your textures will be bad. No exceptions. Thirdly, you have seriously awful colour choice. Don't just pick horrendously bright colours, and then make them slightly darker for shadows. Look up some others work, see how they pick colours, and then practice techniques like hue shifting. Fourthly, you need to work into your textures. They should take around half an hour, at the absolute minimum, each. Yes. EACH. Not for the entire terrain.png. EACH TEXTURE. The more complex textures may take a few hours to do. Don't just think you're done after putting one layer of shadow on it. Work into it to blend it. Don't rely on the feather tool.
If you can't do all of the above, leave now and never make another texture again.

=) agreed, as long as you stick to your creating, you will (hopefully) get better. and lol proloe, that was a bit harsh there at the end.... but really dude keep creating things for your self and practice! just like anything else you do, don't post your first ever texture pack unless you have 3 or 4 people say, hey this looks awesome! (meaning have people criticize it BEFORE you post [like a 'beta' period]) not sure how many people actually do that but any of my creations on anything (never attempted minecraft due to the plethora of textures and mods... i would end up offending someone by accidentally making something that looks like theirs) i have at least 5 of my most honest friends look over them and tell me what they like and don't like about it... easy to do. and really, when i read a post with like 3 bumps that are completely random and 3 posts in a row from the same person (ESPECIALLY the creator!?) it makes me get all sick in side. bumps shouldn't be from the creator at all >=O
