However I am unsure as how to go about doing this. I try copying each of the files I want from each folder into a new one, and then turning it into a .zip, but it doesn't work. Any way to go about doing this?
Not just terrain though. I am wanting to take the terrain png from one texture pack and add it over a different texture pack that has items, etc all redone.
I'v done both of these, however when I re-zip the file as .zip, it just shows up as a greyed out texture pack in my game, and if I select it, it just uses the default textures that minecraft uses.
If you're using WinRAR, make sure you're making a WinRAR ZIP archive instead of a WinRAR archive. Both icons look the same but one is a .zip and the other is a .rar.
If you're not using WinRAR... you should.
I use winRAR, and I do select .zip. The pack won't even show up in the list for MC if it's a .rar file.
