So I seem to have decent pixeling skills, and the one thing that I disliked the most about the default Minecraft is the tools. flat shapes, no shading, all the same monochrome color, no interesting designs. Bleh. Therefore, in my spare time, I'll be putting together a set of brand spanking new ones!
Pic (a bit out of date, some tools have received tweaking since then):
And a sample of currently unreleased misc items (3 dyes and the diamond piece):
It's currently packaged with the default texture pack, but upon request I can provide custom packs remixed with these tools. I won't share them publicly though unless I can get approval for doing so from the creator.
I don't care for adfly that much, but if you want to help me I could use the following:
* Promotion
* A pack logo
I'm working on the Aether tools right now, and you should be seeing some of those soonish. Also, Dugatee is starting to work on a full texture pack featuring these tools, and has graciously offered a couple of sets of alternates that I'll be introducing in my next release.
If you like these tools enough, feel free to use this sig banner!

Shovels will be flipped and gems will be shinier, thanks! I've completed the stone pickaxe as well, and I should have a wooden sword/shovel/pickaxe available soon. Then ill do axes and [gardening] hoes. After that, i might do some mod-based tools :smile.gif:

What use is an ear that does not hear, or a mouth that does not speak?
They look pretty good, awesome that there 16px, perhaps a actual texture pack to go with them. They just look great and I would like to see what else you can create.
Aight, the OP has a new preview now! It has wood tools, the missing stone ones, and axes! Sorry about not flipping the stone tools, i forgot to do it >.<

* Im not a big fan of the Wooden axe , im not sure why but the shape doesnt seem right.
* I would prefer if the Stone sword looked like a spear or mace and the Wooden sword looked like a club ( just like a big stick maybe with like a leaf growing off it or something? )
Maybe you could do alternates including the spear and club (Hint Hint) :wink.gif:
Overall epic 9/10
I was running out of shape ideas for axes, so I went for a double-sided tomahawk/hatchet-esque.... thing. I might redo it, it's probably my least favorite as well. I do like the idea of alternates, and after I do a set or two of mod tools I think that sounds like a great idea!
Also, I just did my first release ^^ Download it if you like it! Also feel free to request a retrofit on whatever your favorite pack is if you want.
Edit: i'm an idiot, it's the shovels that get flipped (not the stone tools), and I did those (though the preview doesn't show it). >.<
They look great though, can't wait to use them IG.
Hrm, I'll upload to Mediafire then. Dropbox is acting wonky about giving me DL links for files ATM... Edit: check OP for updated link!

Hehe, well here's a feedback-filled-bump.
I think these look great especially for 16x (yes, what everybodies saying.. :rolleyes:), especially the steel+, so yeah only constructive criticism I have is make the 'progressively getting better crafted' idea better for wooden and stone tools, maybe make the earlier swords spears stuff like that, stuff that makes the items still look progressive but not look odd.
The only hesitation I have for using things like spears is that they'll still be treated as swords (swung like em and all that), and when I installed a stone spear-toting Painterly pack for my brother he called it a butter knife :tongue.gif: Clubs and maybe a mace or such are perfectly doable though.
For the love of god, don't use out of place / illogical things such as gems or iron on wood objects. Makes everything to fancy and unrealistic.
*cough* where did i do that? The only things that have gems on it are the gold/diamond tools, and iron is only on... iron. :tongue.gif:
In any case, there's only so much I can do without taking some artistic license. It doesn't seem like much of a stretch to me to think that you'd find some other gems along with diamonds for decoration, or maybe a few baubles to stick into gold tools. To me anyway :smile.gif:

Feedback and comments are welcome!
EDIT: Though i think the green gemstones on the diamond tools could be a little bit more shiny, then they will be perfect.
(And I recommend flipping the shovels horizontally, they look better that way.)

Curse PremiumI might, previous attempts at doing block textures didn't work out well but who knows?
nice sig :smile.gif:

I also edited the title to reflect the release, since I kinda missed that before >.<
its a texture pack based off of everyones stuff!
A set for the people that don't like the green gems or random colors on the Gold and Diamond tools.
A set I made for myself which includes a new Gold Axe, Diamond tools include Gold and Gold tools include Diamond.
I like the Axe I made cause it has a Battleaxe front (from the diamond one) and a Hammer back.
Edit: Maybe I could help you with some of the sprites? I can make the Sun and Moon.
