I would whip up some drawn textures if I were any good. Sadly, I mostly hang out on this forum because I add texture packs like crazy and switch around all the time. I'm mostly posting to put this thread back on the first page, because I believe in the idea of communal sharing of resources and inspirations, especially among artists.
The art I do is all pixel art based off other peoples' work for my personal use. I've modified a handful of textures from the Pokémon games to fit into Minecraft, I might post some of those. It's slow work, pixel by pixel.

Thank you-thank you. My photography skills really show in this one. I know it doesn't have much cobblestone in it, but I thought it was interesting because if you were to just chop a square out of that texture, it would almost tile itself.

...Trust me, I know what you mean. And thank you for your bumpy bumps. I'm glad there are people who are willing to support a communal idea; I wasn't sure how well this idea would take off. A pizza for you, good sir.
Considering your pack's dark theme, I suppose I should award you with a doom star sticker instead.
Holy ****, why don't they give out doom star stickers in school? I think I might of just had a genius moment. PS: We need more textures, peoples! 100-billion just isn't enough!
I've never been satisfied with any of the Pokémon texture packs, so I edited them heavily for personal use. This is one of the textures I created for that--I turned an actual door texture from one of the Pokémon games into a workable minecraft door texture.

Very nice, thank you.
Added to miscellaneous under digital art.
I might need a better way to organize things like chests and doors. Miscellaneous will have to do for now.
Would you be interested in animations too? I have a compressed 32x32 water texture animation I don't use :smile.gif:
Made by me ofcourse :smile.gif:
It's like in this version of my texture packs:
Aageon, you, and everyone else, are always welcome to submit anything you want the public to have. Water animations are rough as hell to make, so submitting one would be very gratuitous of you.
Ooh, that white cobblestone has gave me some more motivation for a fantasy-book-texture-pack I keep putting off... Don't expect anything but yeah, it's got me slightly excited!
On topic: Really nice idea Swiss brothers I'm defintely bookmarking this might give me the more motivation and ideas I need to actually get the cogs working in my brain.
I've always admired the idea you two had of creating a 'local produce' texture pack, sadly wasn't over fond of the texture pack of yours in it's current uncomplete state (Sorry!), but you've coloured me intrigued seeing the 'behind the scenes' (haha) of it all. I'll defintely pop over to your texture pack tomorrow to give it a look over and it might even get bookmarked so I can admire it when it's fully done.
thanks man, hopefully farther down the road when it's more complete and highly customizable you'll be more fond of it. if you'd like to help improve it you can tell us all the things you don't like about it. it helps out a lot to get outside opinions. everyone has a different taste which is why were hoping to have plenty of alternates and such to choose from.
on a different note, (directed towards everyone)
although i never originally planned to use any of the textures from this thread, i think i have a neat idea.
if there is a texture in real life that you guys spot and would like to see it turned into a minecraft texture, take a photo of it (please try to make it in focus and evenly lit) and i will do my best to edit it into our texture pack as an alternate. if it turns out awesome enough it may even be in the main version rather than an alternate.
this is just an idea i would like to test out but if it works out i might go further with it.

Hell, I just want more multi-colored cobblestone options the way there are for bricks. If you can edit any of these textures into a cobblestone texture that has as much variation in color as real-life cobblestone has, I'll be happy as a creeper in open redstone.
EDIT: I forgot to include an explanation! The thread is for texture pack creators to discuss the creative process of making a texture pack. Since it seems like something people on this thread would be interested to know exists, a place to share that burning idea or question with nowhere to put, I'm sharing it.

i'm gonna see what i can do with one of your cobblestone photos. also, i happened to post in your thread there before reading your post here. i was considering recording the process and posting in your thread (to show my how i go about making my textures) whatya think?
Legal bump (significant amount of new textures added under the "digital art" section).
Submissions in any and all resolutions are welcome and rewarded with pizza high fives.
And now for something different. A gravel texture!
This is right outside my front door, next to the stairs. The interesting part, for me, is the cedar chips and bits of leaves and stuff mixed in with it. Could give a texture based off it some character, and the relative size of the rocks could make it actually usable for roads/paths.
EDIT: Oh God. I need to take a break from texturing. I just looked at that photo and thought I saw tiling issues. It isn't even a tile!

That's actually a pretty cool idea, having **** in the gravel other than rocks. Thanks, Added to the post.
Gravel is just a hard texture to make look like gravel and have it not be ugly. It's just not fun to work with or look at. The only good-looking gravel I can think of is Ovo's, and I think it might be an alt (not sure).

This is especially the case in high resolution packs. Many people just throw some intense noise down and call it gravel in HD packs. It ends up looking like static puke from hell. Especially at a distance.

Yeah I have no idea how I'm gonna get good gravel if I make it that far
Aageon's nature's lust is the only pack I've [personally] seen with good looking gravel-like gravel and that's partly because he has so many pixels to play around in

do it ha ha ha.
and bump for the same reason as said above.
Nope. All resolutions accepted. I suppose later, if this becomes really popular, I'll start sorting them out by resolution.
